I think they are trying to play it safe because the actors both have issues. Park Shi Hoo's rape scandal and Ji Hyo's Frozen Flower nudity (Which she was awesome in).
If you haven't noticed, poor Ji Hyo career never bounced back from Frozen Flower, the double standards suck, so you want see any realistic kisses from her.
And perhaps netizens had their way with PSH, that in turn made it's way on script. He was a pretty decent on screen kisser until being accused of sexual assault. ~shrug~ Who wants to see a possible rapist make out? I think this drama was supposed to test the waters, and they played it safe.
I wish they had just gone ahead and went for it, since they have two actors in their 30s, and let them show some sexual awareness of each other that translates to us. Rip the bandaid quick, so to speak. At least Ji Hyo won't be pushed further into a type-casted actor as I see happening.
