Yes in the drama they're currently just friends... Even in the webtoon its shown pretty late.. It's been quite a while read the webtoon but i think Ji won's mom had an affair with su min's dad and that's why she left them. Later when they were kids, su min came to ji won's home and saw her family picture and then she realized the woman was ji won's mom
