I think similar in a way that they are both stubborn and not easy to accept bullying. But their body language, their way of thinking and working are different. I think ZLY is perfect for Ming Lan just like Lusi is perfect for Niao2. If they two switched, it might not work. Ming Lan has more episodes and ZLY actually portrayed the adult Ming Lan in more episodes...while LLTG is a bit rushing at the end, Lusi portrayed the young Niao2 in more episodes, only a few last episodes she got to portrayed a growing up Niao2.

Oh, on the later part, we will get to see more ML's childhood and background. But yeah, I do like how it focuses on FL and how FL was so discriminated as female...and yet as childish and weak as she is, she still fights to be stubborn. I think Niao2 is probably my fav character for c drama this year. It is hard not to love her and her character...and her interaction to every single character in that drama is so entertaining and engaging, to a point that I don't feel that she has to have happy ending with ML or spend more time with ML...because I enjoy her interaction with everyone!
