And you won't get hurt too...you pointed a water gun to your forehead!🤡🤡No real guns for us clowns!Use bomb…
Oh very early in the drama. Remember that scene when the 2nd brother's aunt (sorry, I kinda forget all the characters' names already) came to visit? And she told him to help out, not to be impolite to FL, basically reminding him that he was just an 'outsider' being fed by the family? And the father overheard that. And during dinner, the father burst into anger when he was drunk. And he said in tears how he was hurt because the boy he raised as his own, he loved as his own, was being reminded that he was not his own? That was my worst cry!
Long eps are double swords. Only when the production, script, acting are in place then long eps give us that attachment.…
I am not worried about TTEOTM quality...but more about the script. I mean, who knows what silly plot they adjusted and made the whole story falls on second half...like the typical c drama...
Interesting. Majority will put the 'hating' on the ML considering the circumstances. So, interesting to find some…
Ah, no worries. I am not some kind of immature mdl user who got offended or would go crazy torturing others who have different opinion. If you feel this has gone to unhealthy discussion, you are free to walk away. But I still appreciate for you taking your time to respond :) Well, I guess we just interpreted things differently and probably see things differently in life. So, we took different consideration in emphasizing or sympathizing people, which is totally normal. So, please, don't ever feel forced to like the FL...I was trying to convince you, yes, probably, because I wanted you to understand (from my point of view) why she did what she did. But even if you can't, that's totally fine. I mean, it is just a character after all. And we, human, have different level of tolerance over something; we also see things differently when it comes to what's important or priority in life and what not. I was just interested in discussion at the beginning, because I do enjoy character or plot development discussion in a book club...especially when you spot a different view. When all people are in sync, then it could be a comforting discussion. When you spot different view, you widen your perspective and learn to do 'healthy argument'. But then of course...discussing over a comment section won't be ideal.
Anyway, I could go on and on, also talking about the ML now that you mentioned it. Because I also agreed, ML character is complex and there is a lot to analyze on his side. But, I take note on what you said. I guess, if you don't feel comfortable putting an emotion aspect in the discussion, we can stop this. Because for me, it is a drama after all. Drama sells by playing around with viewers' emotion. I believe novels work the same way. We are human after all, the whole plot and character development is to engage viewers at the emotional level. Thanks for sharing your view! Good to know a different angle that you shared!
Which one you hate more in c drama: - A love triangle, basically an aggressive and pushy 2ML who can't seem to take NO for an answer OR - A typical stupid innocent FL who acted all cute and naive but somehow got every gentleman to fall for her
Interesting. Majority will put the 'hating' on the ML considering the circumstances. So, interesting to find some…
Hey, thanks for spending time to write a long explanation! Well, I guess we simply interpreted things differently then. Because I see her suicide as the only way to keep the two kingdoms to leave each other alone. I mean, I never see her suicide as an act of a broken heart. Because if it is so, she would have done it from the moment she gained back her memory. But all she wanted to do was going home. Yes, there is a lot of 'running away' aspect in her action. But there were also many times she came to realize that running away was not gonna do good to her people. Like when she found out the ML killed her grandfather and she wanted to cancel the wedding, she then understood and decided to proceed with the marriage after being explained by the empress dowager. I found her compassionate too. Yes, she was spoilt and that was her upbringing. And I think from our understanding of Xi kingdom, I do believe it was the nature of the palace life there. Also, her mother was from barbarian tribe, so we needed to take this into account too. But as ignorant as she was, but when it came to people around her, she took care of them. She tried her best to protect her maids, even her husband's concubines. But, knowing that your grandfather was killed by the man you loved and finding out that your grandfather and the whole tribe was killed by the man you loved because of your fault are two very different things. When she gained back her memory, she lost it. I mean, please...imagine you realized you were tricked from the very beginning by the man you loved (even by the man you trusted, her teacher) so that you brought them to your family and he murdered the whole family and the whole tribe. How could someone lived with that experience? How could you choose to let go and live happily ever after with that man? And I personally think if they made it happy ending...like the FL managed to talk it out to both parties and they stopped the war and she either continued to be home with her brother or she chose ML and lived happily...this was unrealistic. Why would both leaders who were so determined to fight, listened to this girl? And what is her position? Like she said, in that war, whichever side she chose, she was still a traitor. I guess she saw it, that the only ending that could protect both parties is if both parties agreed to leave each other alone. And her existence would make that impossible to happen, she belonged to both kingdoms anyway. And there is no way her brother or the ML would let go. So, I didn't interpret her suicide as simply a broken heart. It is much more than that.
Wow, but answering this question will give you the biggest spoiler of the whole novel! I suggest you keep reading…
It is really complicated. There is a reason why MR is so obsessed with SM, it is related to some kind of 'curse' planted which is the center of the story. MR will continue be loyal to SM with this 'curse'. But in the reincarnation period, where MR woke up in the past (without the curse), he lived based on his knowledge of the love he had for SM and he thought he loved SM. But he eventually realized he didn't love SM and never did, and he slowly fell in love with CWN. But do not misunderstand this 'curse' as a love curse solely to make MR loved SM. There is much more into it...it is the main plot which leads to the whole catastrophe...
I understand the viewers' positive evaluations, but I do not share them. Yes, the drama has some good elements,…
Interesting. Majority will put the 'hating' on the ML considering the circumstances. So, interesting to find some hating on FL too. Yes, FL was spoilt and naive. But she was very young in this drama (I think 15?). So the whole characters and attitudes made sense for me. And after watching the whole drama, I really felt sad for her, pitied her so much for such a life. She was deceived, betrayed, her freedom was taken away, even humiliated so much during her time as crown princess...but regardless, she found a way to enjoy her life, to show love to people around her, even came to realize what 'sacrifice' for nation was... But when you put it in a way "put her over my knee and beat the hell out of her romantic flings"...I don't understand which part drove you so mad about her? FL is one of the strongest character in drama that I will always remember in my memory. I feel like I want to hug her and protect her at all cost... Btw, no judgment here...just starting a healthy discussion, and enjoy different feels or opinion over a character! Just like in a book club!
Surprised by the great ratings. I've finished 32 episodes and I'm not feeling very strongly about this drama,…
Maybe this kind of storyline just doesn't fit you... I myself think the FL has developed so much and the actress really acted it well, making this character one of those that stick to my mind even after a long time...
