Yes, and maybe the way the books were written too...because you kinda had to go through such a long period of time period in their lives then go the second book where you had to also go through a quite long period of time of their past etc... TGCF really got me because of the whole characters...not just XL and HC but the rest of the other characters...they were all gems!
