Yes, there is. They 2ndary couple were annoying at first, but then eventually become quite interesting to watch...and the 2ndary couple did have quite a lot of screen time I would say...they both take quite sometime to finally realize their feeling and fight for it.

Did you manage to continue watching? I totally understand your frustration as I felt that at first, but this doesn't last long. These two basically were there for first few episodes and their plan was blew up, and this incident was just a minuscule part of the whole story. So, don't worry...FL is savage, she won't lose to such cheap scheme :)

Well, lucky I did watch some chinese xianxia... But honestly, after knowing how detail chinese novels are...I guess this explained why some dramas felt weird or illogical...without enough character development...I guess, really, not any single c novel can be made a good drama with such limited screen time and censorship...

Hahahahaha...well, at least I am not as dumb as in 2ha where I had missed so many important parts because of my rush reading. But 2ha definitely has a more complicated storyline to follow...I think if I didn't read 2ha first, I might be lost in tgcf too, I might not get used to the whole past-present-past things...haha
