It’s just one of the era in chinese history. But the point is, both dramas circle around time travel, and probably reincarnation in See You Again. But from what we understand so far, the time travel is a banned topic in china. But if it is a straight ban definition, why would the production team even try to film these two dramas, right? The fact that they even try it, it means there is more ‘appendix’ to the rule. For those who read the book will know what it means in giving us hope that the hyx drama will probably be able to stay true to the novel after all in this aspect.
