Just watched teaser for ep 20 and omg that mom just doesn’t stop! She is determined to ruin her daughter’s life and career. The woman knows NOTHING about hotel management yet is going to tell the staff at Xinganli how to do their jobs. For those saying the mom isn’t after status, or money, I would say this should disprove that notion.

I agree - the daily I watched had a lot of great actors but the writing was just horrible. An actor can only act with what he/she is given. And if the director is also horrible - well… 🤷🏼‍♀️

Oh yeah definitely! When the actor can make you feel strong emotions they are doing a great job!

Yes, I know it is her savings but that is not poor - $10,000 is a lot of money - at least it is to me.

And they pay to be a part of those dance groups too. And the costumes they have to purchase as well - so this is why I don’t believe the whole “woe is me I am so poor” act she puts on.

Yes! She complains but offers no solutions. She has worked before so she obviously can again. She isn’t stupid. There are jobs she could do. Anything would be better to contribute to the finances instead of complaining and doing nothing.

It’s no excuse to treat her family the way she does. Being poor doesn’t give you the right to do what she does. I am just tired of her self-pity - never tries to find solutions and the solutions her daughter, son, and husband give her, she shoots down - she just wants everyone to feel sorry for her! Enough is enough.

No the scene in ep 15 it says she has 72. 454.75 yuan in her account. That is about $10,000.

So well said and I agree. It is so hard for me to sympathize with the mom - she is self-pitying herself and playing victim - she is capable of going to work and helping out but she isn’t. Her kids are grown - what does she do all day long? Instead of looking for solutions she just cries and whines then vents her anger out on everyone. I couldn’t stand it - I would have moved out a long time ago.

She does want it - her daughter having a “good marriage” I.e - wealthy man, means she, the mom, will also have a better life via her daughter. So yes, the mom absolutely wants that money. She may say it is for her daughter’s own good but deep down it is for her own selfish need to not have to worry about anything again - or so she believes. But I guarantee that even if she had money, she would still be complaining and find fault with everything because she is not happy - mom needs to evaluate herself and find out why she is so miserable and then work on being a better person.
