Actually they don’t cheat with each other…..her BF is cheating but not with his GF - but let’s just say they are all interconnected with each other in a way. Lots of twists in the first episode.

It’s not a flashback scene that something bad happened - he’s just relaxing his kind in water is how I took it - probably trying to escape whatever noise was around him at the time.
