well not all were 32 but a lot of them were - even some 40 - you saw them a lot more for night time dramas than you do now. most of the night drama now are 12 - even the daily dramas use to be longer - some up to 150-170 eps

yeah his character died. has a cross next to his name in wiki - he was listed as a special appearance along with the actress playing do hee. this is why jae in says she will get revenge and burn it all down at the very first scene in the very first episode.
