Yea I was totally addicted to GoT until I got back to K-dramas, so I put GoT on hold for a while. I'm only on the 2nd ep of 3rd season so I need to catch up before 4th season comes out. My favorite character(s) so far are John Snow, Arya, and Tyrion Lannister. Of course I also like the cute little dragons xD. What about you? Some of my friends used to watch Asian dramas, but it seems they're more into American series now, so I hardly discuss drama with them. Occasionally, they'd watch some of the K-drama I recommend. If you haven't seen I hear Your Voice, I think that's also a very good drama. Great acting and very good plot. I see you're watching City Hunter, how's that drama so far? Oh and have you heard of Soompi forum?

Lol yea the choices. Ah~ so many dramas but so little time lol. Plus I still have American shows to watch (Game of Thrones, Tru Blood, Walking Dead, American Horror Stories, Once Upon a Time..) the list is endless. xD It's funny because I tend to watch more dramas when I'm in school, like when I have an exam coming and instead of studying, I watch dramas as an excuse to not study. -_-" I live in the US, but I'm Chinese/Vietnamese. :D How about you? My parents were drama addicts, and so were their parents LOL. In fact, they're watching their Chinese dramas right now as I'm typing this.

Sorry if I recommend too much drama lol but this one is definitely a must watch for j-drama---> My Boss My Hero. It is hilarious and you'll surely enjoy it. My hubby who is not much of an Asian drama person actually got hooked and secretly went off to watch it on his own without me because he "couldn't wait". -_- lol. So watch that too when you have time. :) just be careful that there are several version of it, so watch the Japanese drama version.

Oh I forgot to answer your question lol. Ever since I was a toddler, I started out with TVB, HK and Taiwanese drama. I think majority of Asian families did, or at least the ones I know. But between K & J-drama, the very first one I saw would have to be Nobuta wo Produce. And even though it was nothing out of the ordinary, it somehow got me hooked because of Yamapi and Kame lol (thus began my obsession). So after that I saw Stand Up! and whatever J-dorama that was available at that time. First K-drama I saw was Tree of Heaven but I didn't finish it (too much angst). But I ended up watching Full House instead and that was what got me hooked to K-drama. :)

Oh! I nearly forgot about Shitsuren Chocolatier. Because I love Matsumoto Jun, I was going to watch all of his drama but totally forgot about that one. Yep the remake of GTO was not as great as the original 1998 one. The entire cast of 1998 GTO did an amazing job and it was a very heartwarming type of drama. Gokusen, if you have time, you should definitely watch that (if you haven't). It is very similar to GTO. I think the first Gokusen is better than Gokusen 2 and 3 imo. The first one is always the best right? lol. And because MatsuJun is my bias, I love Kimi wa Petto. Korean has its own version but it's crap, so do watch the Japanese version. I just love how it has a lot of kiss scenes. Stand Up! is hilarious. It has an ecchi feel to it, very pervy at times. It's somewhat like a J version of American Pie.

I love Shin Min Ah, she's my ultimate bias and definitely an eye candy. I also love Ha Ji Won and Park Shin Hye! Missing my other goddesses who are Jun Ji Hyun and Song Hye Kyo. :)

Oh that's good. Some of the best Asian dramas are from Japan. I honestly just started watching K-dramas these past few years, but I started out with J-dramas back in 2005 and was a loyal fan for a couple years. They just stopped coming out with good dramas so I jumped to K-drama. But when K-dramas become boring, I switch back to J-drama..so I actually enjoy both lol. I see Nodame Cantabile is on your list. You should definitely watch that..it's such a cute/funny drama. Also, I recommend Meichan no Shitsuji, Nobuta wo Produce, Majo no Jouken (back then when Takizawa Hideaki still acts, I miss him >.<), Buzzer Beat, Rich Man Poor Woman, and the latest one I saw was Piece. What was the very first Asian drama you saw?

Thank you for your recommendation! Looks like I found a new favorite actress to add to my list. ^_^ I'll definitely watch My Sassy Girl one of these days. So do you enjoy watching J drama more or K drama?

Yep definitely!I highly recommend You Who Came from the Stars, it's becoming really addicting to the point where I stalk soompi thread for news and updates everyday lol. I love the main actress in there, she's hilarious and so unique in her own way. Main actor triggered my obsession, so now I'm on his drama/movie marathon while I wait for new episodes of YWCFTS. The only thing I regret is that I should've waited until the drama finish airing cuz the new episode wait is killing me hahaha. x_x Have you seen the Master's Sun? It's also a good drama too if you're into supernatural/ghost/rom-com. =)

Thanks for the friend request. ^_^ I also love Hana Yori Dango. Up until now I can't watch any other version of HanaDan besides the J version. To me, it was a perfect masterpiece.
Skye-N-Rain Jan 29, 2014
Hm this really is a bad idea. Tamaki Hiroshi and Ueno Juri will always be Chiaki Senpai and Nodame in my heart. They really got into their characters and no one can ever replace them. There are plenty of anime/manga that haven't been made into drama, why not go with those?

OH that's ok. I watched Devil Beside You mainly for Mike He lol. ^^ I'm obsessed with Hyun Bin after Secret Garden. He's super adorable in there! I can't wait for his new movie, even though he looks like an old man in there. Have you seen pictures of the new sageuk movie he's in? He has a beard and everything, yikes! Lol. I watch 49 days on and off mainly because it gets me sad all the time, I heard some things about the ending, which is not a happy one, so I'm debating on whether I should finish it or not. Not too far along, so I can't recommend it to ya. I'll probably give it a couple more episodes and see if it's worth the watch, but I think so far it's been going great. Currently I'm also watching You who came from the Stars, it's a really cute rom-com you should watch it.

Lol yay it's Monday tomorrow! Sadly, I have finals next week so I'll have to wait until the week after to watch. T_T Empress Ki is such an interesting story and I agree that it should receive more attention than how it is now. I guess not a lot of people prefer sageuk, but I think it is a nice genre. It's a fresh change from the usual dramatic modern city life.

Really love this drama. It was an awesome cast and this introduced me to a lot of talented actors and actresses. The storyline was very unique and enjoyable to watch. I'm loving the OST. :)
