imo making it over the top is somewhat necessary or you have people shrugging off these issues, like 'suck it up'. Though I understand that sense of disbelief is a turn off for some viewers.

It's needed imo. You may be shocked, but mothers do actually say things like this in Asian households. I've experienced it countless times first hand. Hopefully she gets a wake up call.

She is. Many people only realize their desire to live when it's already too late in their suicide attempt. She confronted her attempt at suicide, declaring her intent to live, to push through her obstacles. When she heard the lines from her sister's video game, she came to realization once again to push forward. Yes, she's a pushover for sure, but pushovers can still be strong.
I think her sister is fine too, she was seen smiling when she saw Ju Kyung delighted going to school. But I do agree that her family seriously needs to come around and actually start supporting her emotionally.
It's just a waiting game now to see when her secret gets revealed and to see how she confronts that.

There's no problem with hoping the idols/actors you like change bad behaviors. I'm not acting like she committed a crime or anything, so I'm not sure what the implications of your post are.
