This episode was so cuteeee 😭❤️ It was also kind of comforting because we were still healing from those sudden last few minutes of the final episode, where we were left with so many questions and barely any explanation about what had actually happened.
The interactions between the father and son were so sweet, and I especially loved how the son had inherited his father’s sly little tricks 😂 That was such a fun and adorable part of the episode. We also finally got a little explanation about where he had been and what he was up to, which made the whole thing feel even more satisfying.
Just a very sweet, cute, and comforting little special episode. 🥹❤️
A question for those who read the novel: how does the ML change his face? I mean, given the historical setting,…
Actually. When the Crown Prince is assassinated, he survives...I won’t spoil exactly how. Then there’s this character, Bai Sen Sen, who is a doctor and knows a special technique called “Xiao Pi Cuo Gu, Yi Rong” . This literally translates to "Peeling the skin and shaving/grinding the bones to alter the countenance." For the Crown Prince, the process took almost three days and was extremely painful, changing his facial structure so drastically that he became completely unrecognisable. He went through all of this so he could return and take his revenge.
Later, in an instance , Bai Sen Sen also uses the same herbal technique on the Empress, but hers is only a temporary and much more minor alteration, so it isn’t painful. So basically, Bai Sen Sen possesses this inherited knowledge of appearance-altering medicine and disguise techniques.
