yeah honestly that is one thing i dont understand as well. she was supposed to be in a huge company and for 10 years at that, unless she gambled all the money she should be rich by now. If you see FL's behaviour and her mother's as an abuse than i am at a loss of words because i see it as normal no matter how i look at it. They are just overly expressive opposite to ML and FL's father personality. Honestly in real life i also might not like such people who are overly expressive since i am opposite but it's a drama.
