LOL well first I was thinking it'd just be some cute "a girl wants to find someone to keep her mom company" kind…
She did seem to recognize him, at some point she was like "oh why did it have to be him!" in the first episode with the flash of memory of him in the hot tub.. <3 it went by pretty fast tho & was kind of confusing so I get if it was overlooked xD
Even worse (but maybe slightly better for RJ? ) if AR ~knew about his feelings & blackmailed him into staying quiet, &/or helping her with Operation: Breakup Notes.. arrghh now I'm so curious!
LOL well first I was thinking it'd just be some cute "a girl wants to find someone to keep her mom company" kind…
Yes about the guilt! The quote on RJ's solo promo photo, "I ask nothing but to stay by your side." just makes me think, so where has he been for 14yrs? Still friends with DO.. hmmm.
Seconded about the potential for AhRin, fingers crossed!
Theory on what happened btwn AeJung & DaeOh & how RyuJin & YeonWoo were involved:
LOL well first I was thinking it'd just be some cute "a girl wants to find someone to keep her mom company" kind of story with various matchmaking hijinks, but I guess they're going with some kind of MammaMia twist instead.. not too crazy about that since this is even more likely to overlook the poly-potential lol yet after now watching the first two eps, whoa.. so unexpectedly ~angsty, omg!
First off, arghh DISLIKE when a two-way mixup causes ppl to lose decade+ of time together, especially with leaving strong negative feelings on both sides.. owww. But it also seems ~someone may be responsible, & if it is.. u.u
So, theory goes: In college, DaeOh liked AeJung, she kind of first liked his best friend RyuJin, & RJ actually likes.. *cough* ~.~ Well, when AJ & DO end up together later on, smth happened some time after to split them up, & in a very bad way since the way they acted, they don't seemed to have talked it thru at all. Perhaps.. they were ~both dumped by A NOTE, in which one says some stuff like "We can't be together anymore. Stay away from me from now on. I don't want to be tied down." the usual horrible shiz that would make a person instantly want to never see you again anyways. Except they each THINK it came from the other person.. thus the agony at feeling abandoned.. but what if ~RyuJin wrote them, to purposely split up AJ&DO?
Of course, RJ didn't realize DO would take it so hard (the running himself to death, for one) nor did he kno that AJ was pregnant & planning to tell DO happily before she got that note that turned her world upside-down. He just.. got what he wanted, to stay by DO's side ever since. He may have even kept them from communicating later too, like in the scene where DO comes back saying he wants AJ to read the first draft of the story he wrote for them & I think that one had a much better (happy) ending but when there is no response from AJ at all ie maybe RJ tells DO that she refuses to hear anything he has to say, that's when the story gets its female char just turned into a "coldhearted" heartbreaker, which he ends up publishing.
After leaving college, AeJung met YeonWoo & HE fell hard & even tho she told him she was having a child, being the pure sunshine that he is, he vowed to help her & be the father if that's what she needed. Except she eventually pushes him away because she felt too guilty about (some cliche here over his youth & freedom & also maybe cuz she couldn't fully love him back too *sniffle* my heart..) so he reluctantly respected her wishes & just took some job opportunity elsewhere, hoping to see her again someday. AeJung kept the book YW made for her while they were together because it was a source of ~comfort, even if they ended awkwardly. Wouldn't anyone? Too sweet!! ♡
Now, better late than never? RyuJin is feeling guilty & maybe he wants to confess. Or maybe he's wanted to for years, just at some point got scared & has hidden in his cowardice ever since. How will they react? Worse, how much more guiltier will he feel when finds out about HaNi?
But arghh.. the fact that DaeOh missed out on over a decade of his daughter's life AND has spent it bitterly hating the person he loved so much (& she him).. x.x
How will they recover from such a cruel separation??
Then again, maybe ~AhRin was the one who did it! & RJ can still be semi-guilty by association if he had an idea of what she did.. *ahhh*
Really fun episode first that ended too quick!I must say all guys are handsome I hope they all get a fair amount…
LOL @ "rainbow" xDD
Definitely would like something really ~unique & actually new *cough* {OT3? or f/f twist?} *cough* instead of cliché & predictable (well, ppl were calling the "MammaMia" style twist from a mile away just on the trailer on YT & now the route seems obvious, heh) but I guess all I can do is keep my fingers crossed ;P
This might be a ridiculous theory but I feel like Rujin know something about why and how Aejong and Dae Oh broke…
EXACTLY & I don't know if my heart could take it, especially if they write it badly.. ;( after the mess that was "Sweet Munchies" I'm gonna need a better ending here <3
This is going to be a contradicting opinion, but this drama is starting to give off a very predictable feel. I…
Yes, I was also just hoping for actual ~group family~ hijinks & not some "even more heteronormative" & uber-angsty mashup of Parent Trap & Mamma Mia LOL u.u'
I feel like Ryu Jin is hiding something maybe he might have caused a misunderstanding and feels guilty. He also…
I haven't got vibes of RJ liking AJ yet, if anything it seems as if he likes DO, heh but- OMG, if he's the one that's behind the misunderstanding & if it was sabotage.. ;( not to mention where does seemingly beyond-sweet YW fit into all this mess?
I'm trying to decide if the end of the 2nd episode is correct or if the show is throwing in some misdirection.…
She did seem to recognize him, at some point she was like "oh why did it have to be him!" in the first episode with the flash of memory of him in the hot tub.. <3
He went to the school for the parent-teacher meeting, being a single parent, & changes his mind about going after that confrontation. His son seem to be disappointed that it wasn't one of his father's guys instead, implying that's what they usually do because his son is.. embarrassed? of his father, or smth like that. It seems like he's making an effort to be more involved in his son's life, which could be one of the reasons why he was.. beating up ex-fellow gang members? part of an effort to leave that life behind? Whatever that was.
It was so weird that throughout the drama they kept translating 동네 (dongne) as town when it means neighborhood...…
Thanks for the insight, sounds like they should've just used "area".
..who is "they"? Depends on who did the subtitles; if it was Viki you could probly easily ask somebody to fix it by PM or a forum post, but other sources are much trickier. Netflix tho has a nifty "report problem" option on the website's viewing activity page under each title recently watched. I'm constantly using that because they never seem to have captions for English lines in "foreign-language" films as if actual hard-of-hearing people don't need to use English subs too. You can use the same thing to report incorrect translations as well, which I would do also & more often if I had the time & energy. Not sure if they ever follow thru & fix them tho, since I rarely am able to rewatch things.. xD
I've yet to successfully get into Japanese dramas, but I'm still trying. The trailer looks funny, and the girl…
In the anime, it was implied that she was actually crushed on even before she changed & it was more like, that the transformation mostly causes the ~competition.. xD
Is no one going to talk about how losing enough weight in a week to look like a different person would likely…
Oh, it was definitely discussed over & over when the manga & anime came out a few years back, it's hands-down the worst most unbelievable part of the whole thing, but at least there was some cuteness to be had in the rest of the story.. the anime is on CrunchyRoll, btw if you'd be interested in checking that out xD
I'm not a BL fan, but I've read some BL manga before and I can sort of understand why some girls would enjoy it.…
There is really no such thing as requiring subjects of affection to have "interest in you first" ~before you can like them, at least not for the majority of people, but especially not when it comes to fictional stories in media & art.. besides which "orientation" is no guarantee of anyone being automatically attracted to any other person either; just because a person may be interested in "females" in general doesn't mean they're gonna be attracted to ~every female or "drool over" them back.. & it's not just other people lol we also fawn over cute animals, babies & all kinds of art like statues, movies, music, books- not to mention how many people drool over actual food; whatever else that may not be "interested" in us but we still love them all anyway xD
exactly about the title, they tried to bait ppl into thinking this is something new & better, but it's just the same old shiz in a slightly modified package; making it an actually ROTTEN mess.. & the female lead should've stood up for herself way more in certain scenes instead of just becoming someone for the male lead to "save" - & repeatedly! then they have her feeling ~guilty for how HE felt?? wtf! & meanwhile the male lead only ever thinks about ~her.. x.x
If only, but that would require the male main lead to be emotionally mature enough.. smth unfortunately it seems most every "triangle" is too often ~lacking u.u
Even worse (but maybe slightly better for RJ? ) if AR ~knew about his feelings & blackmailed him into staying quiet, &/or helping her with Operation: Breakup Notes.. arrghh now I'm so curious!

Also there's not exactly a single "main lead" match for her, more like, the entire OT6 is shippable LOL or just/mostly its ~slashy pairs.. ;P
