You can try the donghua for DLDL, there should be subs I think? The animation is very well received and it's permanently the best selling series on tencent's site lol. (it literally just sit at the top all the time and no series have ever budged it since the system have been introduced mid 2020?)

I like Jiang Ni as a character, I don't care for the casting choice, but she's better than I thought, still not quite feeling the chemistry and I'm not huge on some of her pouts, but overall she's one of the better FLs. Hell, as a character, she has more depth + is more interesting than both JoL and MHH's FL.

I have no idea what they translate the realms to, so I'll just tell you the literal names, from lowest to highest, it's Jin Gang, then Zhi Xuan, Tian Xiang, Di Xian.

Little brother is born at Jin Gang, he's just naturally that awesome, he trades off his intelligence I guess narratively speaking. Old Huang is Zhi Xuan (he explains the levels after the fights in ep 5 or 6) Wang Xianzhi (no.2 guy) and Li Chungang is Tian Xiang. idk where ML is, probably not even Jin Gang, dude just started. The realms are at the top, rank 1, below it there's up to rank 9. I haven't read the novel so I can't really give you examples for those lol.

It's in the drama isn't it? From lowest to highest, it's 金刚 Jin Gang，指玄 Zhi Xuan，天象 Tian Xiang，地仙 Di Xian. Little brother naturally attained Jin Gang. Wang Xianzhi + Li Chungang, and the latest Xuanyuan Dapan (head of Xuanyuan family) is Tian Xiang. I can't actually remember this naturally cos the names don't correlate to anything. JoL also rumour to have filmed more than it aired but you still don't see it now lol. SSS is rumour to have gone through multiple edits, so I think it was simply cut down to make the story tighter, I believe they sent 40 ep for the license. There's filming notice floating around that indicate that they filmed more ep (the version we are seeing) than in the script too.

Probably because MHH is funny and DLDL isn't (I have no idea because I didn't watch it). He wrote DLDL s1 before SSS s1 haha, He was writing SSS when Young Blood aired mid 2019. His female characters (from both original and adapted works) are usually fairly smart and capable, even the cutesy ones aren't annoying. Maybe there's other writers, idk.

It doesn't count international views, but do watch it on wetv or other official platforms because it tells them oversea audience are interested! That means platforms are more likely to sub more dramas + faster + generate revenue so they actually pay more attention to subs.

JoL is a tencent drama, tencent pictures + china lit (tencent subsidiary) + new classics media (china lit subsidiary). It's on iqiyi because tencent also sold it to iqiyi. MHH have the same production companies, and they sold it exclusively to iqiyi, because tencent video, penguin pictures subsidiary (tencent pictures and penguin pictures are competing subsidiaries, it's little easier to distinguish in chinese) didn't offer as much resources as iqiyi. MHH s2 have since been taken back, I'm sure tencent will air the next season.

cctv actually pays measly amount, but it's good for exposure to wider audience. JoL's commercial success was much much higher, but its budget was also much higher because it was filmed at height of production cost. JoL have more chance of a sequel for SSS, at least it has a script.

That schedule was planned for the start, and I think it's so tencent have a longer broadcasting period.

MHH s2 isn't his :P It's Qin Wen's, who has a team of writers under her and they work super fast, a lot of MHH's lines were ad libbed by Guo Qilin so on set writers and director probably helped too. Young Blood s2 is suppose to start filming Q1 (per mangotv's promotion pamphlet) so he's either writing it now or half way done, there's bunch of other writers for YB2, he mostly have to oversee things. I have no idea if he's still writing s2 for DLDL or not, I hope not, he got so much hate for it.

That's a mistranslation, in Chinese the sect/clan is called Spring & Autumn, which also a historical period.

Even with all the loud complaints by chinese netizens, it's still the most watched drama at the moment and should be in top 3 for tencent with little issues, so don't worry too much about critical ratings, viewcount = money, money shouts louder.

People rating it early tend to love the show, so when others that might not care for the genre/cast/story come in, they might rate it lower, it's generally a good thing since that means more people are watching.

As for criticism, there's fair amount about the fight choreography, directing, pacing, FL's casting and acting (I'm fine with her acting, but I don't think she's the right casting choice) etc.

? gaming companies wouldn't do that, it's more likely to be fans that don't like the leads. I've watched the drama, I've read the novel before the watching drama, I followed the stats and reception from start till ending, I know the promotion tactics that it and other dramas used, I literally said it in my post, you really don't need to tell me about it.

you absolutely can :P you have to realise douban was created for movie fanatics initially, it has since expanded, but its heavy users are movie fantatics, veteran drama watchers, fandom users, so mostly pretty young. But China have a lot of people, people that don't care about issues that veteran drama watchers care (like tropey), or plagiarism issues, or scandals. Heck, some might care, but that doesn't mean they won't watch the drama, they can watch it and give it 1 star, that's their right.

The most watched drama for iqiyi by a fairly large margin is my heroic husband, sitting at 6.3 mostly due to a fantastic start. The second is My Dear Guardian with a 4.2, the score is mostly due to first two episodes that's tropey and hits a lot of douban's nope buttons. There are plenty of tv dramas with high tv ratings that make people angry as hell, and rate it 2 star (a 4), but will keep watching.

Give him a canto background should work. I don't even know what Yang Mi is filming right now, I know she has a modern drama with Xu Kai that's fighting for slot in Jan and Feb? Xu Kai's first undubbed drama lol.

I wouldn't call it incorrect to say the views are inflated, since HnK have massive amount of players (no.1 domestically by vast margin, at its peak, its daily revenue can fund a S+ drama), and by putting it into the game, it's a huge promotion tactic but tencent have always tried various methods to "inflate" views for dramas they see fit. It's just the term inflate seem to mean fake to some, when it's various promotion tactics that cause people to click on it (YAMG actually had a watch drama for 0.7 yuan at some point iirc).
