Can y’all tell me how Somin got casted for playful kiss as the female lead with zero acting experience?? I just…
i answered this to @khalessi and i want @aerum07 to read this too. just copy pasting what i replied to khalessi's question in LND page -
→Her first role was as the second lead in Bad Guy, and yes, she secured the main lead in Playful Kiss after going through many auditions. According to the director, her smile and laugh were the key reasons she was chosen. Although she was a complete rookie at the time, but she was also a scholarship holder at a prestigious institution, the Korea National University of Arts, recognised for her acting ability.
Regarding her family background, it's true that she comes from a well-off family, but that doesn’t mean she didn’t face struggles. She had to fight to pursue acting as her subject and work hard to enter the industry, a decision that caused tension with her father for nine long years. Even after Playful Kiss, she took a break to focus on her studies and remained inactive for nearly a year and a half. Following her graduation, she restarted her career from scratch.
It’s not as if everything was handed to her on a silver platter, she put in significant effort and overcame challenges to pursue her passion.
Just curious, as I'm exploring Jung so min’s catalog, I noticed she debuted 14 years ago in a lead role alongside…

And I watch a lot of K-dramas. Right now, I’m watching one on Netflix called Love Next Door. I just love the combination of the guy character and the girl character—they start as friends! Like, they are friends for 30 years. Those things feel so real. [K-dramas are] nothing too serious, so when I need to try to calm myself down, I watch them, and it really helps - LISA (BLACKPINK)
If I could, I would give it a 0 star for nonsense, it's unbearable to watch unnecessarily long and dragging story.…
I read through your previous comments and got a clear sense of where you’re coming from, and frankly, it speaks volumes about your frustrated, vulgar mentality. Go ahead, rate it a zero. That’s fitting, considering you’re a ZERO, and not even one with any value. Stay angry, stay frustrated, and keep spewing negativity; it only reveals your true self, and trust me, no one cares about your ratings.
Love Next Door did brilliantly, with an amazing cast, a talented creative team, and writing that millions appreciated. Your opinions don’t matter in the grand scheme, and no amount of zeroes from people like you will change that.
We still have 4 episodes to go in my region and I´m wondering if this show suddenly goes downhill in those final…
Since its release, this show has been in Netflix's Top Ten, but unfortunately, some haters and trolls are trying to lower its ratings by giving it unfair scores like 1.0 and 3.0. Many fans don't bother to rate on MDL, while some trolls just want to keep the ratings below their favorite shows. Unlike these haters, fans of LND, JSM, and JHI don't resort to such tactics. The show has brought us immense happiness, and that's what really counts. Everyone has their own taste when it comes to shows and genres, and clearly, many people love this one. The MDL rating doesn't define its true value.
