Some theories and important points from today's ep!! Ep 26 was the most interesting ep we have had in a while…
[VERY personal theories ahead, thus of course possibly extremely spoiler-y... but also pure fantasy]

Well, we know that the actor is credited for both Ziqi and the author's roles, but they could be different characters in the end? Yet, we didn't see him at the start of the drama, in those very few minutes in the real world? As for me, I believe that they're the same person indeed, just in the same situation than Miaomiao and chances are he got lost/trapped in this world and hasn't (or couldn't) come back ever since. After all, if I remember well, Miaomiao says at the start of the drama, when still in the modern world, that this author hasn't published anything in many years (forgot how many) and that is another reason why she was so thrilled for the new release. And disappointed by the cliché/flat plot. If the author got stuck in another world, that could explain the non-releases for so long etc.? And maybe that novel that was published wasn't actually written by this author, as he was "not available"? And when Miaomiao felt that difference so strongly, it attracted her to that world where they're both stuck? I'm probably fantasizing a bit too much here... but something along those lines?

I also believe that Ziqi is starting to remember: when Miaomiao wakes up just after losing her memories, as she's trying to explain who she is but can't find the words anymore, Ziqi tells her that it doesn't matter she's Miaomiao anyway etc., but in a nearly forceful way, as if he didn't want her to remember / what they have now is more important than anything else. Because he knows that if she remembers, she might finish the game and leave to the real world? Does it mean he doesn't want to go back to the real world himself? And if so, why? Just because he probably couldn't find her anymore? Why was he stuck there himself? To be seen...

Even in this episode 26, everyone says that Ziqi seems upset when she names the author she loves so much, and expresses her love for said author. As for me, I felt like he was trying to repress a laugh... which would make sense, if he knew she was actually praising him?

It is very likely that the different plots at the moment are connected somehow, we have extremely few episodes left after all. At the very least, we know that the main leads are looking for Ziqi's mother because they believe that it will help him regain his memories, thus his true self, thus "fuse" with that weapon and use it for good to fight the Resentful Woman (-> they will have to find her very soon). Meanwhile, the second leads are on a quest to repair the map that will lead to the resentful woman, also giving an occasion to (finally) give some background info on Fuyi. So... at the extremely least, everyone will meet again at the front door of the resentful woman?
I just fear for Cuicui, seeing what was said on her influence on weaker demons when she starts to awaken... to be seen.

Still, I'm not making theories on Ziqi's mother and his aunt for now: to be honest, on what we've seen so far, I couldn't really make the difference between the two characters. So... to be seen?

One last completely personal and fantasmatic theory of mine: That last line from the writer/editor was worrisome indeed. Typical System giving a clear warning, even if Miaomiao doesn't remember.
But!
We're in a video-game setting, in this version of the story. Since the beginning of the drama, we've had several "video-game tricks" here and there.
And for any gamer, the ultimate fight/pleasure is to BEAT THE SYSTEM at its own game: there's a rule, clear and imposing a definite wall, but Gamers will fight long and hard to find a way to have that damn wall shatter into pieces. Weak gamers will use cheatcodes, real gamers will find the shortcut or special trick(s) that the system didn't realize were possible, and BAM system is beaten.
So I'll stay positive, trust on the gamer-tendencies of the writer(s), and keep on believing we'll have a good ending somehow?
It's been such a lovel-bubbly drama so far, they can't take it to Dark Gloom just for the last minutes! I believe in you, don't disappoint me/us, writers!

-Sorry this was so long, but this drama inspires loooots of theories, even a few episodes before the end: another sign of a really good drama.-

Congratulations!! The currently airing Tencent's historical, romance, fantasy series " Love Game In Eastern Fantasy…
Awesome!
If only they had not reduced it to 32 episodes...
And showed a bit more affection between the two leads even after -after- the two confessed their love! Seriously, it's like they showed more love to the other before their relation was clear. Now, it's part of the background and barely addressed anymore... which isn't rare is video games, I admit, but still!

If that's the excuse, they'd better make up for it when the characters come back to the real world!!! Not necessarily speaking of a kiss here, just a bit more warmth and interaction between the two leads, other than "we're on a quest".

Just a thought on the recent "cuttings", or feeling thereof (also knowing that 98% chances are I'm just giving the Director excuses here): we're supposed to be in a video game. In video games, one of the most frustrating things with quests is that you follow the story, you relate to the characters (main and side), and when the quest is done... you barely hear of the side characters ever again, at best you get one emblematic item for the memory (possibly to be used later on but not the mist common, usually it just stays there in your inventory), and you often pester at how this or that detail doesn't make sense with what you saw until now.

Until recently, the FL remembered she was in a video game and gave us a few "outside of the game" info, especially explaining these "not so logical" bits. And when you learnt of the initial story, these parts somehow made sense, or a little bit of sense. Now she forgot, so they don't make sense anymore. And we get a bit frustrated, just like in a video game.

Also, these two main leads are mostly good at displaying affection through their "overall attitude": kissing has never been their forte. I'll be smiling from ear to ear if they finally kiss for good at some point (at this point I'm not convinced it will ever happen, or just quickly at the very end), but I'm definitely glad with their hugs and honey stares so far, they are the best!
