it's not a fail, it's just not a hit and that's ok, it's not that surprising for such a heavy and sometimes dark…
I do not understand what that has to with anything. It is about star power, which is not something that stays for you forever unless you are Won Bin. I am not saying he is an awful actor. He is one of the best young actors out there. But he used to be a double threat: good in acting and popular. But now it is less obvious. He is undeniably still popular, but has he been overtaken by others? That is my question...

who’s the other 2? LMH and HB?
Just hope for the best, but I think the other ones are more friendly with the jury. Especially people such as Lee Byung Hun, who wins every year a big award no matter how good his performance is...

My feeling is that it will be difficult to win Baeksang. Have you seen the lineup for 2020-2021? Graceful Friends can be really good, Moon Chae Won's new drama. Hwang Jung Min's and Ha Jung Woo's Suriname, Lee Jung Jae's Squid Games, Jun Ji Hyun's Mount Jiri, Lee Byung Hun's Here, Lee Je Hoon's Move to Heaven, Gong Yoo's The Silent Sea, Cho Seung Woo's Sisyphus, Chimera, Undercover, Alice, Penthouse, Stranger 2, Hospital Playlist 2... There are so many veteran and film actors returning to the small screen that I am expecting that the level of kdrama will only become higher. These film actors will not return to the small and ruin their reputation if the story is not half-decent.

After Hyde Jekyll and Me, HB went into hiding and only acted in movies. Gong Yoo as well...

Ratings might not mean much, but it can mean that we will not see KSH and LMH in a kdrama for a very long time...

KSH also flopped with his latest movie "Real"pre-army, so there is a trend forming.

What people sometimes tend to forget is that pre- and post-army careers are totally different. Pre-army; the fan base are teenage girls. Post-army; the fan base are/became older and more mature. If KSH, but also LMH and JCW cannot maintain their top-notch viewership ratings, their careers will slowly burn out.

I am not saying that KSH or LMH will end up like that (JCW I am not sure), but they might... Ratings are their lifeline. And the ratings are not just okay, but really bad. The budget is very high and it is his post-army drama. But the truth is that KSH cannot beat very controversial actors (suspected of sexual harassment) such as Park Shi Hoo. This is worrying.

LMH and KSH used to be the type of actors that could act in low-budget dramas or movies and still rake in the numbers. KSH's successful movie "Secretly, Greatly" became one of the highest in box office almost exclusively due to his teenage female fan base. Nowadays he cannot rely on this fan base, which is not good...

I am not sure how long you have been following kdrama/kmovies. But do you know names such as Ha Hee Ra? She used to be at the same level at Kim Hee Ae in the nineties, but nowadays she is only acting in supporting roles or daily dramas. It is very difficult to stay at the top for a long time...
