So glad to know how little sympathy and empathy some people in this comment section have. The original name is pretty unique so when you couple that with being the same time, place, and events, the writers knew exactly what they were doing. They knew it too since they ended up chaging the name when they got caught. Anyway, I know people aren't going to change their views, so I'm not going to argue anymore.

Then the writers should never had given Jisoo's character the name of a real life demonstrator. They opened themselves up for the very valid criticism by doing that.

Except is it really? Before they changed the fml's name it was the actual name of a demonstrator. It's such a sensitive topic (more so than something like Joseon Exorcist) because so many of these individuals are still alive. I'm not sure I would want the government to get involved per se because I don't like government censorship, but if the Korean public feels this strongly, I'm okay with them protesting and asking sponsors to pull support.
