They did. I just wouldn't understand the reason that Lan Zhan would leave Wei Ying after loving him, losing him, and waiting for him for 16 years. However @hello explained it in a way that fit both of their characters and made sense to stick with the overall theme of their love!

Honestly, that is an amazing response and makes so much sense. I hadn't really thought of it from that perspective because it seemed more like Lan Zhan decided it and Wei Ying seemed upset by it. But you are right about Wei Ying's personality and desire. That desire to travel must be even greater after two lifetimes of battle and tragedy. "If you really love something let it go..." I thought of that quote when reading your post.
That was the only thing about the show that I didn't really appreciate but your explanation on the reasoning just depends the love that had been portrayed throughout the whole show.
If you're referring to the ending of the drama, it's all due to censorship. I think they gave us the best ending…
Sure, so what isn't shown in the tv show due to censorship is that before the battle and after drunk LZ gives WY the chicken they go back to the room and makeup and a little bit more. WY attempts to confess but in the process says thank you which is triggering for LZ because in the past WY has always said that when they've separated. So LZ tenses and sobers up and Wei Ying takes that as a rejection. As a result, they get separate rooms and Wei Ying sneaks out of the hotel and ends up at the temple. When Wei Ying is at the temple he is finally told that at the battle where Wei Ying was injured Lan Zhan saved him and escaped with him. Lan Zhan took him to a cave and gave him spiritual powers and basically told Wei Ying how he felt. Lan Zhan fought 30 disciples from his own sect when they came to find him, hence the 30 scars. Once Lan Zhan arrives at the temple and when Wei Ying is captured he finally confesses to Lan Zhan that he loves him. He basically says "I wanted to sleep with you. I like you. I fancy you. I love you. I whatever you. I want to sleep with you every day. I want to night hunt with you forever. I don't want anyone but you. It can't be anyone but you."A tear rolls down Lan Zhan's eye. They win in the temple and then at some point between the final chapter and the special episode they get married. The extra's include different points in their life. One chapter is includes an incense burner which sends them into their dreams, super steamy lol. They basically spend the rest of their lives together teaching the younger generation.
If this doesn't have a happy ending I'm gonna be ao irritated and devastated, why can't there be a bl drama with…
If you want nothing but fluff I suggest going and watching Love by Chance, Love by Chance 2 (skip the Ae scenes), Manner of Death, Cherry Magic, 2gether, and definitely Oxygen. I'm not sure if you've seen any or all of these but they avoid all those tropes, which is something I really appreciated lol

I feel that. Out of every single drama I've seen, and I've seen a lot, these two were the best at conveying their feelings without actually touching or saying anything. I laughed with them and cried with them. I felt like I was looking in on someone else's life. It was just beautiful.

I have read the novel and I loved the show. I know it's because of censorship, but I don't understand why the censorship separated them? Couldn't they just stay on as "friends?" I know the special version gives it a different ending. Even with that though loved both the novel and show.
Yeah, I'm gonna need you to tell me the name of all the dramas where all the couples you mentioned are from, please?
The last one, The Husky and His White Cat Shizun, is an amazing read! I have read it and re-read it so many times in the past few months. For me it was just as good as untamed!
Question for anyone who's read the novel: I always like to read the novel's of Chinese BL adaptions because of the censorship in the shows. Is this novel worth reading? As in does it actually show them hold hands, confess, kiss, etc. or is the novel also more bromance so watching the show is enough?
This was so so soooo disappointing!! I really liked We Best Love, but this first episode was really bad :/ What…
Me too. I was worried about the violence because of the tailer. So far this feels like different shows. I still have hope it might get better though! I'll be really dissapointed if it continues like this.
I really don't understand why the HIStory team decided not to work with Lin Pei Yu but this woman? The writer…
I agree. I got into the History series because of Lin Pei Yu. She does amazing days! MODC garnered so much love and attention though that it's probably why they're bringing her back.

Thank you!
