you have to take so many things into account (like production cost, time take to build sets, CGI, etc) for the duration it takes to release a drama/movie. + it really depends on the type of show they're filming for

Maybe it's because I was waiting every week for a new chapter expecting a good ending to happen for Doona and Wonjun... but for them just not to be with each other in the end made me feel like I wasted my time reading xD

if I can remember correctly, it's the opposite in the manhwa. Instead, Doona pushed Wonjun away by faking that she's in a relationship with someone else even though she still loves him. Wonjun ended up dating Ira.
