Its totally different in my opinion. Well maybe from a certain perspective you could say that they are both Policemen, but I dont think K can actually work, he is the hero side. Well watch the first episode and see for your self if you like it or not. I dont want to give any spoilers. But for me the drama is absolutely amazing

He plays in Tunnel too a police officer who gets hurt because he is trying to investigate to help others

Actually he wasn't that beaten up after the sauna scene. If that scene had really occured he would have bruises, scratches and burn marks. But he didn't, he had just some light wounds. And it's actually ecplained by the theory of the doctor. He was sleeping on the bench and fell off so he hurt himself when falling. And we clearly see Ryu Soo Yeol closing his eyes before K came in the sauna.

actually I though that the first scene was a flasback too in the beginning, but now I have a theory that it was an internal fight between his original personality and K so it would be decided who would surface

N's character in Tunnel also can be compared. Because there he was a police officer who tried to investigate to protect the weak but ended up being hunted and hurt himself
