Then put them out the house. The mother sacrificed the daughters voice to stay in the house and marriage. she's an adult now and she chooses not to speak.
She made a mistake and spoke when she rescued her husband. She spoke to him while he was sleeping. She also made a mistake and made a sound when she cried in the car with her husband, when he mentioned it, she stopped, then started back again. She screamed in the police car because the kidnapper spoke through the radio, she had a PANIC attack, not an anxiety attack. After trying to open the door and it not opening she screamed for them to open the door. When we panic we don't think rationally. Her natural response should have been to sign that she wanted to exit, but logic went out the door and she just screamed.

Ma Yang seems to be good at business yet powerless. they let her do what she wants to do as long as it falls in line with what they want and with the rules. anything outside the rules and their wants, it seems they shut her down.
