They keep putting every obstacle in between the leads, the past, the present & the future are all a hindrance to their relationship.

Mu Dan is fighting for the past in this episode - she needs to fight the people in her present that keep dragging her, abusing her and humiliating her.
At this point they need to go their separate ways. ML needs to focus on his task, Mu Dan needs to focus on her business while she continually gets dragged by the Rat Princess because of her delusional one legged toad of a husband.
this is a twisted story but it's way better than a 7. only 4 episodes in, so it's too early.
if you don't like the storyline, which is twisted, that's fine.
but the actors, production and meld are really good.
FL & ML are doing a great job it's a sad, pitiful story, yet believable for that era. I'm very interested to see how things turn out, since it started with such a huge moral twist.
give it a try, ignore the ratings. but be prepared to have your moral compass pinched.
