Yes - they turned her in to an ignorant woman. When she was slaughtering pigs her brain was fine. Yeh, she couldn't read all the words but we did not get the impression that she was stupid. as she is transitioning over to the military - they made her daft. She can not even say people's names correctly. When she was slaughtering pigs - she was considerate. She got in to the military and she had a world of her own - nothing else mattered with the exception of what she wanted. Even when she was rewarded her new title - she could not even sit still long enough to receive it. That is not the same character from earlier episodes.

I agree, especially in regards to adaptations. They should try to maintain the original balance or it throws everything off. It is almost like changing the original authors intent. That isn't fair to them in that respect.
