It just comes across that you only want to see everything as bad in this drama. Because you literally complain about everything. Though some of your criticisms were okay, the one about the production & OST makes no sense at all because that is one thing everyone that watches the drama agrees on that it is well made.

Why is it rated so low?? Please don't tell me bc there was "very little romance."
Yeah, I am wondering why it is rated so low as well. I thought it was a well-made drama

K dramas recently remind me of my wild youth. Fun times on repeat for a while then the eventual hangovers come…
The way they execute the last 2 episodes was my main issue as well. Why did they introduce random plots that doesn't really go well with the flow of the whole drama . For a character like Paik Saeon, why would he ghost Hee joo just because of what his father did to her step sibling? It doesn't really make sense with how they portrayed Paik Saeon throughout the drama at all. Even if it was in th novel, it is not necessary they have to follow it through and through. They just ruined a beautiful blooming love story with that stupid plotline at the last episodes.

That ending was perfect. I couldn't think of any ending better than it. I was completely sympathizing with JBR,…
Him growing to have a conscience and feeling remorse doesn't excuse what he has done in any freaking way. He still killed those people that did nothing to him in the most atrocious ways possible.
So it is still fucked up with how the show is trying to make us sympathize with him. I would rather yohan who was unjustly killed. It is also wrong the show try to prove that a serial killer's offspring will most likely become a killer with just some push when it isn't hereditary at all.
And lol I know the drama doesn't need to say the obvious but that doesn't mean I have to agree with empathizing with someone that had premeditated murders of innocent people (not accidental).

Yeah it shows that which was really sad. But they still end up showing us that a serial killer's offspring will end up becoming one and only some trigger/push is needed to bring out the killer instinct.
Which is wrong because killer instinct isn't something that is hereditary at all, so they shouldn't have gone that route.

Thanks for the explanation, you cleared up some things for me.
But I have another question. As you said people with psychopathic gene are prone to show more aggression when provoked, than other people. But is psychopathic gene actually hereditary? Because the show went with that but I am not sure if that is actually true.

Anyway what I just think is that we human beings generally are interesting and very complex in nature in terms of our interactions and relations with other human beings. From different real crime documentaries I have checked out, I do observed that people we could consider 'normal' human beings end up committing murder/crime in the worst possible way. And there have even be cases of serial killers that were never psychopathic in nature.
I just feel we shouldn't separate a group of people based on their supposed 'gene or trait' when we humans are generally a complicated beings capable of anything when proper care is not taken.

It is unfair to just think some people are not normal like other people based on what their gene is and not what they have done. Just about anyone is capable of various things, so proper caution and care should be given to all children, their immediate environment and how it affects their growth. That shouldn't be limited to a specific group of people which gives the society an excuse to demonize and separate them.
So, I don't think it is a good idea to be able to identify psychopathic gene before birth because people without those gene can still commit atrocious crime as well (This was one route I thought the drama would have went for).

The question I want to ask you is that, do you believe everyone that gets their family killed goes into killing rampage? Specifically of innocent people that had nothing to do with their family's murder? Or do you think it is right the way the drama tries to portray that a serial killer's offspring will always be like their parent whereby only some push/trigger is needed for that killer instinct to come out?

This mindset is totally wrong because anyone can become a killer and doesn't necessarily have to do with their parents being one. It is totally wrong, it is just giving the society more excuses to stigmatize children of such parents. Also being a psychopath doesn't mean you will become a killer which the show doesn't get at all.

Also, no matter whatever Bareum went through or the push he got from OZ. It is no excuses at all for killing innocent people. And I will never agree with the show trying to make us sympathize with a cold-blooded killer which is a total insult to his victims and what their families went through.
Also I didn't explain much on the route I said they could have go for. But with the way the drama was started with the first few episodes, they could have gone with various scenarios that would be totally different from 'Come and Hug me' or 'Flower of evil' and won't be what was given to us.

All in all, this is just a drama and should be completely categorized as fantasy. Nothing of it should be taken as a reference for the way of living or how a proper society should be.

This is why I will always prefer 'Beyond evil' to Mouse because I do care about the morality aspects of a drama apart from the logical context.

Oh my God I am in love with your comments. This is mostly how I felt while watching the drama. I was truly frustrated and sad with how much hatred the fl character got from many people. Though she is annoying but people didn't try to understand her situation or anything just full on hating her as if she killed someone.

This is a comment I post for someone above
I was hoping they would go for the route of trying to prove the father serial killer (head hunter) wrong by showing that his son doesn't end up as he expected. They could have proved that with the right condition, environment and care, a serial killer offspring could end up just as a normal functioning member of the society.

But no they had to go with the route that being psychopathic automatically means you are a killer. or being a serial killer's child automatically means you would become a dangerous killer as well, which is a total bullshit. Don't understand why they are trying to prove that it is hereditary and it is in their innate ability whereby just some push is needed to bring that killer instinct out. Complete total bullshit.
They are also trying to make people rationalize and sympathize with a cold-blooded killer just with the fact that "he was supposedly conditioned into bringing out his killer instinct to the fullest". They got me fucked up with this because how could anyone even sympathize with him in the slightest bit considering what those victims and their family members go through? It is a completely messed up mindset!

It would have been more interesting and compelling sympathizing with how a serial killer's offspring is maltreated just because of who their parents are. And show to us how okay they end up becoming due to proper care and education given to them by specific people away from their birth parents. But alas! this is what we got, disappointment is an understatement of how I feel about this drama considering how truly promising it is with very talented actors.

This is exactly how I feel about the drama. How they presented some information as fact was exactly the reason why I still couldn't bring myself to finish the drama even after I found out who the real killer is . Why are they trying to promote stigmatizing people more based on what happens to their family or background? Why are they trying to claim that if your parent is bad, then you will automatically be bad too as if that is something hereditary? As much as I would have loved this drama, I just can't get over these details.
