Its not s level budget production and it was never expected to be better than 7000 on iqiyi heat index. It had 1 promo and 1 mv iqiyi debuted it without any advance notification. But FOF beat the expectations by averaging 8100 on that plat form. It also hit high index of 8734 on the network where average is usually 7000. Also iqiyi never had S+ dramas, the highest it can go is s dramas, the example of s drama is love between the devil and fairy, this drama was very high budgeted and highly promoted. Compared to LBDAF, FOF virtually had no promotion and most of the actors in FOF are not traffic actors/ actresses. Whether its idol drama or not s drama always tries to cast most popular actors and actresses which can draw Chinese audience and international. The s rated dramas i have seen are doing just that. It so happened that international audience were more honest with FoF and not trying to sabotage it like their life depended on it unlike in China where people in order to promote their own fav competing drama, they down play FoF

Without bromance/sismance some of the plot will be lost. But if there is no WX the whole of plot will be lost. For example lets start with the fact that ZYZ came to the demon hunting team only to work with goddess to save wilderness and stop demons from hurting humans. No WX means no team and no solution to saving both humans and demons. If there was no WX humans would not have understood demons side and no demon (except ZYZ) would have understood human side. The whole plot fails without WX. Remember pie, bai jui and ZYZ hated demons from very beginning. Who changed their minds and hearts, it was WX and ZYZ.

Hmmm interesting point. But falling in love is a matter of heart, no one can guarantee it to happen just because they planned it. Also ZYZ didnt know he had half of the token, he finds out much later.

Yes i was surprised too. I researched on it. It is possible that drama with a lot of CGI and good actors can still not be s/s+ drama and have low budget for promotion.

I'm really disgusted to see this kind of behaviour. HMH deserves good ratings after so much hard work. He would have got even higher ratings if haters and bullies didn't sabotage him so ruthlessly. However I'm happy to see him still getting good recognition.

I have watched all three aired dramas and loved them. I don't trust duoban   rating. All three dramas comment sections mentioned fake accounts, haters, anti fans and water armies messing with the douban ratings. I have watched many dramas based on mdl ratings as an international fan. They are more or less very accurate. However, douban ratings seems very rigged and does not display the true performance of a drama. FOF popularity has sky rocketed and its one of super hits this year. Its gone well past its predicted rating at iqiyi even though it did not have big budget for promotion and its not S rated drama. Its been top 1 drama for 3 weeks at iqiyi and still in top 3. I'm sorry I dont respect the douban system based on what I have heard about it.

I guess ying lei could have been spared by li lun. If li lun didn't go beserk thinking his best friend just asked him to give up his life for bai jui in order to tie with zhu yan. Li lun was too emotional to let zhu yan finish saying what he planned for him that is to save him too. He found out afterwards that zhu yan didn't want him to die he wanted him to transfer into the pagoda tree root. Anyhow, ying lie could have been saved. Its very sad to loose him like this 😣
