Age difference between Pharan & Khem is 3/4 years, not more than that...On character chart of the series, you…
That confused me a lot too. But I think I just tend to rely on numbers, which is why this whole thing started (My degree is 90% Maths after all) ππ I think the reason they used an older child actor could be because they wanted a kid who seemed and sounded mature for their age. It makes sense for Khem, as someone who's been suffering under this curse since he was born.

That makes sense, but the grandpa did say 'atleast' 10 years. However, the present was set in 2025 where Khem was 20, about to turn 21, and the flashbacks happened in 2010, which means it was 15 years before 2025. This way Khem should be 5 or 6 years old. If Pharan was 14 at the time, that would still give them an age gap of 8/9 years.
they have big age gap in the novel, it would be fair to say approx 15 years
Oh wow okay. I wasn't expecting that big of a gap, but you don't really notice it much in the series. I only noticed it because of the flashbacks. Nonetheless, they make an amazing couple, and I loved every bit of the series.
I really like how the series included the 4 of them revisiting the temple in Ayutthaya; it almost brings the story into a full loop. The screenwriters definitely knew what they were doing when creating this masterpiece to keep it interesting for both watchers and novel readers.
If you get the chance, I would recommend reading the novel. It can feel a bit long, especially if you're not much of a reader, but it's got more details and can easily keep you hooked. I read it a while back, when the series was first announced with Net and James instead of JJ, but the fact that I still remember most of it just goes to show how much I loved it.
I think someone had posted a translated version on Inkitt if you want to check it out, though I'm not sure how accurate the translation is. I'll attach the link: https://www.inkitt.com/stories/1341195
After Khun returns to the present, his parents (both mom and dad), take him to see luang ta (a monk who is instead presented as the oracle in the series). He tells him that he will meet phop again when the time is right. Because of this, Khun starts waiting for every eclipse, hoping he will go back in time.
About a year later, Thee, who worries about him, invites Khun over to his house for the long weekend. There, he's playing with Thee's pet dog (I think her name was Olive) when she runs out onto the road just as Thee's cousin pulls up (similar to the scene in the series, except its at home and with a dog instead of a kid) Ofc they meet and thee introduces them, but neither of them tells each other about the past.
Phop starts tutoring Khun in Law, and they get closer. After a tutoring session, Phop drops Khun off at his room, but Khun forgets his wallet in the car. Phop turns back to return it, and Khun invites him in. There, Khun's actually left the ring Phop from the past had given him on the table. Phop confesses that he's always had his memories of the past because of the wish he made before he past. Turns out luang ta from the past had already told him klao was from the future, so he spent the rest of his life waiting to be reunited with him and promised to find and love him in their next life. The reason Phop hadn't told khun was that he wasn't sure if Khun had time-travelled yet. Phop hadn't met Khun before unlike in the series where he knew Khun was Thee's friend and set eveything up.
Phop does propose after Khun graduates. Everyone thinks they were going to fast, but ofc for them they'd been waiting a long time.
Thee and Pun don't actually get together in the future. As far as I remember, Thee was still trying to win pun over, but there wasn't much in the novel about if they ended up together or not. In fact, even Jom and Keaw didn't have many scenes in the novel. And I'm pretty sure the way they caught and solved the opium smuggling was different too.
I love horror as a genre, but there aren't many good BLs I've come across. There are plenty of ghost stories, but they don't really fit under the genre umbrella. Some good ones I can think of right now are Goddess Bless You to Death and After Sundown (movie). Do let me know if you come across any good shows though. I would love to watch them!
I just started Khemjira, but I'm curious about the age difference. I thought Pharan would be 5 or so years older than Khem, but watching the flashbacks makes me think it might be more. Khem would be 5 years old in the flashbacks, but Pharan looks to be at least 15, if not older... I'm just curious.
I thought the book had a perfect ending, but the ending interpreted in the series was magnificent. I love how, even though the book and the series were slightly different, DMD created another masterpiece.
I'm gonna miss this series so much, but I'll definitely be rewatching this multiple times.
Lmao, this is so real tho and every single thing I was screaming at my screen for too. πI started watching…
I just finished it, and I feel the same. It had a beautiful ending, but I think I feel that way because I forgot most of what happened in the first half of the series.
I have high hopes for Love of Silom, partially because of the plot. Hope they live up to that!
It is so aggravating that Joe is portrayed as so lameβ¦ like, I want to slap him every other scene. How can someone…

I started watching this around 2 months ago and stopped right after I finished ep 8 too, because as much as I loved the first few eps, I couldn't with the series anymore. I restarted from ep 9 today (a sorta clear slate), mainly because I've been feeling compelled to finish this series before starting Love of Silom.
Don't get me wrong, I love the series, and I love Up, and Poom, their acting and chemistry are top tier, but I feel like all I've done during this series is either cry or think of how stupid something was (there are plenty of good scenes too, I'm just exaggerating). People seem to like it, I do too, but it's complicated to explain πͺ
I can't wait to see PorTeeTeePor again, and with the entire DEXX team + save.
I have high hopes!

Thank you for responding btw!

I haven't started watching the series, but I plan to after it finishes airing, so no spoilers please!
