I enjoyed this drama very much. Maybe because I felt like I was watching a drama version of Park Bo Gum's life. He has deep friendships, never bad mouths anybody, is respectful and kind, his fellow cast mates can't say anything bad about him. Plus, the character enlisted at the height of his career (so far) and PBG is now doing his military service in the Navy. All I can say is "Park Bo Gum, Fighting!"
Everyone learned and grew from their experiences and even though everything is not fine and dandy over the years, in the end, there was forgiveness and understanding and most important, reconciliation.
I also enjoyed Park So Dam's character that came from hurt and pain from her childhood. Despite a difficult relationship with her mother, she still honored her even though she wasn't like her. The character continued to learn about herself.
Both leads had difficult childhoods and had to work hard to succeed without backstabbing anyone or owing anybody anything.
Hard work, good hearts, difficult childhoods make for interesting stories.
Just finished this drama today and even though it was fully released, I couldn't binge it because each episode basically had me in tears. I could only take one or two episodes a week. Glad it's over and it had a decent ending. These amazing actors who can deliver their lines while in fully emotionally charged scenes! Wow! They were great!
Wow. Soooo nice seeing these characters come back to life and the actors who so diligently played them. Every part was perfectly cast. Coffee Prince was a game changer. Such great romantic scenes. Acting, writing, directing, set design, camera, everything was splendid!
Coffee Prince is a drama you can watch over and over.
I just watched it on the site below and I can attest that the subtitles are lacking. Some dialogue didn't make sense, so you kind of had to figure out some points through osmosis. Other scenes with Korean writing on the screen, was not translated either, so when they are texting or typing, you don't know what is being written or searched.
You can see how the oppression she endured and suffered added to her sense of guilt and sense of self not being "good enough" to her father and her MIL. She needed more for herself to be fulfilled as a human being.
If someone can find an official subtitled version, I'd watch it again. But for what I got out of it, I still rate it an 8 for the unique story line and of course Jung Yu Mi and Gong Yoo's acting.
Congratulations to Kim Hyang Gi for winning Best Actress for Innocent Witness at the 39th Korean Association of Film Critics Awards in November 2019!!!! Great acting!!!

What a great production and excellent acting by Kim Hyang Gi!!!! Her acting is superb!!! Spot on excellent!!!! I've seen her as a teenager in other roles, so this took me back to her younger days and it's amazing to see her talent. Just bring your tissue box when you watch this movie.
For a show I'm just kind of enduring to get it over with (but still kind of like), this is disappointing. Didn't…
Yes, I agree. I wouldn't have split up the last two episodes either, but they made the best response to their citizens to broadcast live updates on the typhoon to keep people safe and aware.
