I don’t think anyone (can) force Dylan. It is within Dylan’s character to take the criticisms and work hard to improve himself. I also don’t think he would leave his agency that helped him from the beginning.
His apology was not enough because netizen also demanded the producers to drop him from his drama. At the time he was filming LBFAD. Dylan said that this was a dark moment for him and the only person that stood up for him was the director of LBFAD. The director responded on his Weibo that he already been filming with Dylan for a few months and wish everyone can see Dylan during filming. He said that everyone will see a very different Dylan Wang and will fall hopelessly in love with him. We all know now how iconic this drama and his character DFQC is.
Dylan said he learned important lesson to be more careful with script selection (since he doesn’t have the connection to S+ projects), and he now checks the camera during filming until he is satisfied (saw him doing this in the BTS for LBFAD and OFL).

In my opinion his agency doesn’t do a good job in protecting him or with getting him good scripts. He is still with the same agency from the beginning, Meng Yang agency. His boss is Liu Xiao Jia (producer of Meteor Garden). When he was cast for LBFAD (another actor declined) and Guardian of the Dafeng it’s really because those producers wanted him and thought he fit the role. Stellar Production was also a new production company at the time with new people.. The Dafeng producer has been liking his social media contents for months before he was rumored ML. For this role, Shiyan, MangoTv offered to Dylan to help him out after the ML dropped out (Dylan aka Prince of MangoTv). This was before his hit drama LBFAD aired. His fans were against him taking this role. His manager spoke out this was his best offer at the time. Dylan keep his promise to the network that tried to help him.
