I've seen rumors for this production project since forever, and never took them seriously because of the revolving…
None of those dramas you mentioned have the level of popularity, scrutiny, and toxicity surrounding it as this. Xinli productions are S+ level and no investor will risk throwing away hundred of millions at this project with “a rising star actress” with all this noise! They need an actress who is not just popular, but ALSO PROVEN can secure business investments & sponsorship + handle the hate. The only actress born under 95 I think who can is Zhou Lusi. Meng Ziyi won’t even be considered if Dylan Wang didn’t sign on.

Casting Dylan Wang was something this production has felt right for Xie XingJing since they discovered him in 2022. He has always been the top choice; he was rumored 11 times over the 3 years (more than other actors)!

I agree. He is wasting his time on other pursuits. I hope he realizes and cares that viewers feel more attached…
Omg I’ve been wanting to say this but kept it to myself, especially that “Inn” variety show which he was doing MangoTV a *favor*. It caused him not to have any vacation, had to fry CP, and during filming his neck pain came back. 😖

He may not be top notch in your eyes, but in this industry he definitely is.
His ability to rise to fame is most related to his personal charisma. After all, there are too many actors whose dramas are popular but they themselves are not. The difference between an actor and a celebrity lies in whether the audience can like the person themselves, not just transfer their feelings for the role. Liking a character is just a temporary crush. Many people who finished watching his drama would go back to research, and would be attracted to him personally. His personality is like a little sun, full of vitality, free, passionate, kind, high emotional intelligence, can cook, takes care of everyone, and a bit funny, a bit silly, a bit showy...It's a completely different feeling from some of his characters (also indirectly proving his good acting skills 💫).

Not only they gave PAAA a tiny bit of screen times, they are shown at inconvenient times after midnight or early…
This is called "screen locking," and by scheduling showtimes poorly, they prevent people from buying tickets so the theater can close early and go home. They give you fake showtimes, so you can't say there are no screenings. They pretend to increase the screening rate for PAAA, which then leads to a lower occupancy rate. Some even lock up screenings in the morning.

A strategy to make your data poor, so that casual viewers see the low box office and think it's not good, so they won't buy tickets, making the box office even worse.

Not only they gave PAAA a tiny bit of screen times, they are shown at inconvenient times after midnight or early morning. They even cancelled some sessions which already have audiences bought the tickets. They claim technical problems and the audiences were given 2 options to refund or watch another movie. Capital has already banded together to monopolize the market. Wang Hedi is competing against top-tier figures like Shen Teng, Wu Jing, and Jia Ling in his very first film; but it's already amazing that he even got to participate.

So now that it looks like Wang Heidi will get first billing in this drama, will he be playing the Empress or will…
For your info, billing has nothing to do with the story. The reason is this project cannot be started if Wang Hedi didn't sign. The chairman of Yuewen personally begged him to take this role (he already rejected it in 2022). First of all, WHD’s popularity is higher than Meng Ziyi. Secondly, they used WHD to solicit investment and advertisement for this project. So, he deserved the first billing.

Douban: 7.0 opening. Given the sheer number of Wang Hedi haters, it would have been torn apart by now, proves the quality is definitely above 7.5.

Interview with director Han Yan:

"When PAAA started pre-production, we couldn't find any actors (lead actors). Filming such a large-scale movie has a very long production cycle and a very complex process. Various scene simulations and some actions and expressions even had to be repeated hundreds of times.

So, I talked to Wang Hedi, and he quickly agreed to participate in the film, even offering all our money...

It's very painful. No actor would be willing to give you that much time. The money was basically spent on production and visual effects. The actors wouldn't be paid that much"

Pre-sales exceeded 37.8 million 🎉
Now everything depends on public opinion and buzz.

A lot of good reviews are coming in already saying it is the hottest movie this year! Sci-fi + plot twists, all set in a dream world with incredible scenes and visuals. The plot is fast-paced. 🚀🛸

Director Hanyan spend all his money on special effects. Make sure to catch it on the big screen in your country as the special effects are top notch. 🌟 The fact that Netflix watched the film before its release and immediately decided to buy it out indicates that PAAA is of extremely high quality.

they are not going to censor rebirth are they lmao
Rebirth, reincarnation, and time-travel plots in Chinese dramas were banned for over 10 years already. Some changes to the drama script is unavoidable.
