This is Tencent knowing GOTD is a cash cow and trying to recoup as much as possible from their investment in purchasing this drama from Xinli (GOTD is not produced by Tencent). Even without the hate campaign, the suspicious system crash on the premier day, dumping all the cloud seats (VIP memberships), prevented them to reach the 29k they were on track of reaching. Tencent did not recover or reimburse the fans. GOTD’s viewership is doing great and is not an issue. The hate campaign failed to stop people from watching. They resorted to shadowblocked GOTD and Dylan on social media.
