imo he's good in those kind of stoic/badass roles like DFQC but this one.. his acting is really cringey and over-acted.
This is straight up Asian slapstick comedy. It’s very nostalgic. Maybe you are reading too much hate posts that are targeting him in China? There are definitely a lot of people saying he is perfectly cast for this role. There’s even a hashtag that XuQian playing Wang Hedi.
Dont worry Xu Qi’An and cousin are not couple. There are many other female characters in this drama. 😄
She seems to admire him. He does have many love interests. In the drama I think we will get hints of cp feel with his love interests, but he falls for one.
