Your screen name is so fun! (Or maybe that's your real name... )
It's so sweet. And now I should comment on your actual post... I was a HUGE fanboy of the Japanese version! Loved Adachi and Kurosawa. The only thing that bugged me was that they didn't kiss. (I'm a gay dude, so no, I don't NEED to see a kiss. But, since Tsuge/Minato kissed a couple of times, it seemed like the producers -- or maybe the actors -- had some weird thing about kissing onscreen. It was such a beautiful, romantic story, the deliberate avoidance of kissing took me out of what was such a beautifully crafted romance.) But I'm really excited about this Thai version of "Cherry Magic!" (And I'll bet Tay/New end up kissing, lol.)
Same here. I was such a fanboy for the Japanese version (and still am), except there was no kiss between the main…
We're on the same page. (But then, I always agree with your well thought out assessments!) I'm excited about the upcoming episodes of this new take on "Cherry Magic!"
I feel like the main couple are ok - I like them and New is soooooo good looking. Their portrayal is not so different…
I'll admit to loving Tsuge in the Japanese version, he was so extra! And, unlike the main couple (in the Japanese version), Tsuge/Minato indulged in some steamy scenes. I liked them.
This was my most anticipated series of the year and the 1st episode exceeded my expectations. I'm not going to…
Same here. I was such a fanboy for the Japanese version (and still am), except there was no kiss between the main leads, and that was my pet peeve. Was it needed? Yes, I think so. The second couple got two of them, and I was annoyed that the directors (or the actors?) seemed hellbent on NOT showing a kiss between Adachi and Kurosawa, after such a well-crafted, romantic story. Kind of took me out of the mood that was so effectively created beforehand.
I LOVED the Japanese version of Cherry Magic. And I really liked Ep 1 of this version. Something tells me that this time we're going to get a kiss! (The only thing that bugged me about the original.)
Is it just me, or would Tew and Kenji be the better endgame? They would be so hot together, having sex while they hold a knife to each other's throats. Come on, you know they would be amazing as a gangsta couple.
Wimpy little "damsel in distress" Guy should end up with Wahl, where they can waltz off into Boringland.
But, of course, that would never happen in the completely predictable world of Thai BL. Too bad, because Tew oozes sexuality and deserves a better sex life. And so does Kenji.
It's cute so far, I guess. I'm crushing on nerdy Off and his glasses. Not crazy about two things:
1) Prem's sister pulling the waterworks to get him to come up with the entire 50K baht that SHE lost, due to her own carelessness, and...
2) Fire being into girls. We all know that he's going to end up with Dynamite, so what's that all about? I really hate when BLs pull that crap. I'm sorry, but straight guys don't just "suddenly" turn gay because some guy is cute. They should have just had Fire be a guy in the series -- with no specific sexual preferences -- who eventually ends up with Dynamite. That, at least, would be believable.
Does anybody really think Guy is going to let Wahl kiss him? I really don't think that's going to happen.
Guy will keep playing the damsel in distress and tell Wahl that he's not ready after the breakup with Tew. And Wahl will remain his friend.
In the meantime, Kenji will come after Tew, and Guy will somehow get involved in that mess. Kenji will either be killed or jailed, Guy and Tew will reconnect and ride off into the sunset into BL Land.
I watched 'CC' for the nth time and I'm wondering something: is Ten on the spectrum? I could be wrong, but the…
I wouldn't mind if Ten was a character on the spectrum. Although I doubt that's where they're going with it. It does seem weird that he has this thing about being touched, especially when it's clear he's going to be doing the nasty with Prem before the series is over.
She should get the 50K baht herself. I can't stand that storyline
Agreed! The minute the sister started crying to Prem was the minute I started saying "Grrrrr." Sure, it's normal to want to help your sister, but THAT much money? (I looked it up and it comes out to more than $1,400 American dollars.) Dang girl, it's your fault and you need to fix it. At least do your part to earn the money back.
I'll bet we get a kiss from TayNew.

But it's still cute and fluffy.

Yawn.
