Oh look! ANOTHER embarrassing, cringy, juvenile, terribly-acted BL out of Thailand with a high rating! Such a…
That seems to be the norm for Thai BLs these days! But I'm thinking of sticking with it because it's already infinitely better than other current ones (Tin Tem Jai, Love Syndrome, Chains of Heart, Bed Friend)... and while I wait for something decent to come out of Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Philippines... :)
The reviews here have convinced me to drop this before I even begin.
Yeah yeah, I know, try it and form your own opinion. But I've watched too many BLs (over 200!) to waste my time on something that looks to disappoint... plus, I'm not spending money to watch it.
For now I'm trying A Boss and a Babe. Lighthearted... and it's free!
IDK. From my personal experience, rebound hook ups happen rather quickly. I see Alan's interest in Gaipa. He's…
Oh sure, rebound hookups happen quickly in my gay world, too!
But, in this case, having Alan coincidentally being the same banker that Jim has, whose new boyfriend coincidentally happens to be Alan's ex... and Alan showing up at grief-stricken Gaipa's mother's funeral to talk business (which was REALLY tacky... I'm sorry, it could have waited a day), and Gaipa falling for him... it just took me completely out of the story.
I wish they hadn't put them together in this case. It's making me drop my rating of the show a bit.
I can't wrap my head around Gaipa and Alan getting together, it's just too implausible, especially considering that the rest of the story was refreshingly realistic.
AlanGaipa becoming a thing just screamed of "we somehow have to put First and Khaotung together to satisfy the shippers."
In this particular case, I was really disappointed they resorted to this, in an otherwise good series.
Lots of you hated it, and that's cool, I do not shame anyone for disliking a series -- I've been very vocal about the ones I've loathed! But I actually really enjoyed this one and am going to miss it, unlike many others in this past year that I couldn't wait to be over.
I thought the actors did a decent job, certainly as good or better than most of what we see in Thai BL. Loved the OST from Phuwin, Pond's was decent as well. But the Christmas carol music needed to go.
And I actually enjoyed the story. (Exception: Palm leaving Neung in the last episode was melodramatic overkill.) I'll be listing all my comments in a review soon.
But it's fluffy and cute.

Nothing much is happening and I'm getting bored. I loved Season 1 but I'm giving Season 2 a 5.0 for lack of development.

It's also quite realistic... parents/guardians do this to their vulnerable kids all the time.
