Title Start-Up Spoiler
what I don't understand is the relationship between Dal Mi and han Ji pyung. at a time she's with do san and at…
The answer is simple, but you are still correct in your argument.

The relationship between Dal mi and Ji Pyung is that they were both their first love, or are they?

For Ji Pyung, yes, she was his first love, but her first love was never real. Like you mentioned before, he did deliver the letters, but he never really wrote or express himself through those letters. Ji Pyung was nothing more than a messenger, who had a little crush on this girl.

Fast forward to the future, and Dal Mi has precious memories of what she thought was her first love. On the other hand, Ji Pyung was not in love with her, and we know this because he never reached out to her or show any interest.

I hate love triangles, and characters like Ji Pyung are guilty of that. He starts helping her out of guilt because he never paid granny back for her sacrifices and affection when she was the only thing he had. He only starts getting interested on Dal Mi because he is delusional I believes that it should be him, when he was just impersonating somebody else from the beginning.

On the other hand, Dal Mi approached Nam Do San because she thought he was her first love, but we can see very quickly how she starts falling for his true self while he falls for her as well.

The love triangle plays an important role in the story because it is thanks to the granny schemes and Ji Pyung guilt conscience that Dal Mi and Do San make contact, however, that does not justify that while both main leads had already developed feelings that everyone could notice and see, this guy would try so hard to push himself into her life when he couldn't care less when she really needed help.

This show has one of the best endings for me, and the main leads romance and progress in the industry is beyond amazing, but the love triangle alone, specially during the second half is the biggest obstacle for me ever rewatching this one again!

I do not remember her ever kissing Yul, but maybe I either skipped that or was a misunderstanding.

Yes, I hate Love Triangles, and yes, the worse kind are those where the third person involved is a so called friend of the protagonist! I remember having a lengthy discussion about the "Bro Code" topic with someone here in MDL under the drama titled "Silent".

In the drama called "Silent" the male lead and the female lead start dating in School, but he disappears from everyone's lives for health issues, but not before breaking up with the female lead during early episodes. Years later, the female lead is dating the guy's best friend in a formal relationship, even when the friend was going to the same school and even helped the main couple to get together back then. That for me is unacceptable.

In "Alchemy Of Souls", the other guy fell in love with her first, but that is something from the past, and it is obvious that the main leads love each other, so just thinking about it is disgusting for me.

I know that tropes like "Love Triangles" are hard to evade since every drama seem to have at least one, and only very limited exceptions have no love triangles. However, I try to avoid dramas where there is no plot, and the plot seems to be the love triangle itself, or the love triangle is too heavy like in "Radio Romance".

For me, the love triangles where completely unnecessary here, since "Alchemy Of Souls" has too many amazing and interesting elements to drive the story, instead of relying on love triangles.

To be fair, the love triangles where more persistent in season 1, but season 1 is lighter and has a touch of comedy, so you should be able to watch without much stress. Besides the relationship and interactions between the main leads makes up for all that.

In season 2, the love triangle is no more than a shadow of season 1, and even when the main leads are not even together yet, their relationship and feelings are too strong to be affected by Yul and his delusion of justice and what he has to do. Yul becomes a bit more likable because of another girl that is in love with him, so thankfully, his story is not all about his first love.

I would watch everything if I was you, since the love triangle never yield any results, and the main couple always end up on top.

It was a great show. I loved it. I liked it a lot the lack of explicit romance but the abundance of long looks,…
I agree with you! This show does not have explicit romance but it is overloaded with subtle romance. The show even has its own love triangle (which I hate).

I love romance, but the whole just dating, holding hands, kissing and all can feel empty, but the chemistry is real in this one!

I am only on episode 7, but I love every time the FL is watching ML doing something badass and she just smirks and get super excited; it is almost sexual how she looks at him!

That makes two of us, since because of that same reason I won't watch "True Beauty" either!

I am glad to hear that the love triangle here is inconsequential.

I genuinely do not understand why writers insist to put a love triangle in every single drama... Dramas without love triangles are a rare sight!

I plan to watch this next, but it bothers me that they try a love triangle with the mother. I would prefer if writers introduce better plots and character development, so they don't have to always rely on misunderstandings, break ups and love triangles...

About the second season, I think I mentioned that I HATE love triangles, but writers seem to love them, since the same love triangles are present during season 2.

There is less screentime for love triangles, and the main leads relationship is strong even when they are not aware of it.

The female lead does not like anyone else, and does not kiss anyone else. However, the main love triangle plays an important part in the plot for season 2 at some point. SML takes upon himself that he has to do something about FL, like he is responsible or something, which annoyed the hell out of me because "buddy, who gave you the right to act like you are her man or responsible of her or something, GTFO", and once again, they spend some time together that in any other drama could be considered a date, but it is not, they are just spending time together.

I liked season 1, but I loved season 2! The main leads take their time to become a couple, but flirt often and have a lot of romantic moments! The action and fantasy is also at another level!

Yeah... Love Triangles...

I hate love triangles, but this show was too good to drop it because of the love triangle elements in the show. The truth is that there are two love triangles with Mu Deok (FL).

The first and main love triangle is between Jang Uk (ML), Mu Deok (FL) and Seo Yul (SML). ML and FL like each other, and only each other, but SML was in love with FL in her original body in the past, and is attracted to her in the present.

FL does not like SML in the present, but spends some time with him that in any other drama would be consider a date, and something happens in the story where she has to pretend that she likes him for some time.

The second love triangle, is between ML, FL and Crown Prince. Crown Prince is supposed to have everything but he hates ML deep inside, maybe because deep down he is aware that ML is the chosen one. However, he does not like FL only because of ML, but because while he lives a life of superficial treatment, she treats him like a normal person because she does not care. This is more like unrequited love, but you know how writers are, they get to squeeze some time where FL and Crown Prince spend time together!

Nothing ever happens between FL and the other two guys, but they show their interest one way or the other and have a good amount of screentime with her.

In all honesty, if this was a romance story alone, I may have dropped it because that's how much I hate love triangles, but the fantasy and action elements had me liking this show so much that I was able to push through.

If you make it to the second season, the romance is a lot better in my opinion. The main leads are not dating until late, but their flirting is there since episode one, so good luck!

I have no idea why people dislike season 2, Bu Yeon slaps. Even though she isn't the fighter that she was as Naksu…
I love her character in season 2! Season 1 approach to her in the form of the other girl was comedy most of the time, but season 2 shows a more down to earth female lead, and she is just gorgeous!!

can someone tell me what episode she’ll get her powers back
She will get glimpses of her power throughout the show, but specially towards the last episode, but she never fully recover her powers. However, in the same way she seems to be further from her powers, he is closer and closer to his true potential.

I am halfway through and there is romance touches in the background, but nothing explicit yet. The main lead's are interested in each other, and feel like they need each other. Considering that the romance here is buried far into core of the story and is barely visible, the writers still manage to push a weird love triangle even when romance here is barely and idea or a possibility... like... what's up with love triangles? Are writers obsessed with that or something..? This is show is about action and revenge, but they insist... what a joke.

Title 18 Again
In this one, the father seems to be the main male lead, so you would expect that the main romance involves him and someone else, which seems to be the wife; but it is odd because only him is young now while the wife remains a mature lady.

This brings the question, will we get romance flowing between the young husband and her wife? Will he get a new love interest? or is the main couple formed by other characters that do not include the father or the mother?

If any of you know the answers to these questions, please let me know, since I am somewhat interested, but also want romance!

I am inquiring about the same thing right now. This seems to be a "romance" show, so you would expect a lot of interactions between the main couple, including flirting, dating or even marriage.

Thank you for following up with my question!

The synopsis says that he got a divorce. Is the father going to date or marry his wife again even when he is a young man now?

I am asking because in romance stories, you get romantic interactions, dating and more from the main couple. Do we get romantic interactions between young father and his wife? Or is there another main couple driving the romance part on this one?
