I'm on the fence about if I want a happy ending as far as Than and Pheem together in the end. Pheem is a douchenozzle and Than deserve better. I don't want either character to be unalived though.
While I'm a fan on the BP ship, I'm also a fan of supernatural stuff like vampires and such. So from that perspective,…
For me it feels like watching like I'm watching a regular tv show that has a M/M romance sprinkled in. The storyline revolves around vampires and not their romantic relationship as a gay couple.
Looking for some takes on the series from watchers who are indifferent to the BounPrem ship. I like supernatural…
While I'm a fan on the BP ship, I'm also a fan of supernatural stuff like vampires and such. So from that perspective, I am enjoying the show for what it is and went into watching without any expectations storyline or character wise. It is how I tend to watch most shows. It has it's campy moments but that I expected after watching the trailers - I found the scenes entertaining while actually watching the show. I'd say give it a try.
This show is simple and cute - that's what I liked most about it. It is good for breaks in between heavier shows. There isn't really any big drama that happens, just two best friends who are now having to navigate what it means to be in a romantic relationship. It is an awkward process and there are some "growing pain" issues but it is relatable. I will be adding it to my rewatch list.
Episode 2 Thoughts: I'm still very interested in the story and I'm holding off reading the novel as of right now so I can enjoy the show. The ghosts still look good and they haven't made it cutesy so far.
Episode 1: If you are a horror or Supernatural (tv show) fan, good chances of you liking this show are high. The story so far has me seriously intrigued and wanting to know more. The graphics and makeup for the ghosts is great and in my opinion, not on the cringe or cheesy side. I adore the friendship between Jet and Khem and I want to know more about Jet's back story so hopefully we get it.
Just got done watching this one and if you aren't ok with watching fvcked up shows/movies, DO NOT WATCH!
Here is the full list of characters (Got them from the credits at the end): Mac (playboy) - Steven Isarapong Fuher Cherry - Sainam Kitikamara James - Attaphan Phunsawat Boy - Karit Chutimakornkul Cold Hair - Apiwath Supakornchawarote Stranger - Setthawin Satjapornthep LadyBoy - Jirayu Niyom Big Boss - Oompon Kitikamara
Non-spoiler thoughts: My curiosity needed to be scratched because I love Gun and I wanted to see what other non soft/fluff shows he has done (huge fan of Not Me). I went into watching this show (movie) with zero expectations since I knew it was indie style. My only "wth?" as far as story goes was with LadyBoy. I think the story could have done just fine without them (using them since I don't know which pronouns to use for the character). I don't hate the character, just wasn't really sure what the point of them being in the show was for.
As for the plot and characters: - Plot: Cherry confronts Playboy while looking for James to find out what happen to some drugs. Chaos ensues from there with arguments happening between Cherry, Playboy, and James. There's a lot of violence and some sexual stuff thrown in. We are basically thrown in the middle of some drama already going on between the characters and there's no info on how it all started. I haven't seen Bittersweet Chocolate so that might have more backstory on the drama for those interested.
- PlayBoy (Mac) was entertaining as a masochist. If you aren't into BDSM or kink stuff, his character and what he is into can be jarring for you. From what I saw, just about everything that is done is consensual.
- Cherry was just plan annoying at first (I think she was meant to be so kudos to the actress) but after a certain part I wanted her to hurt soooooo badly.
- James was interesting to watch. It was fun seeing Gun play him.
- Boy doesn't have a name but I called him my sweet baby boy. His scenes are not for the general viewer and will hurt your heart. I got mad after seeing what happens to him.
Loved the storyline between Xiao Li Cheng and Teng Mu Ren but the storyline for Ye Xing Si and Fu Yong Jie was not it. The stepbrother part wasn't the issue for me. It was the fact that Ye Xing is stalked & SA'd by his stepbrother and no one bats a freaking eye. So while I would love to rewatch it for my boys Xiao Li Cheng and Teng Mu Ren, not sure I'd put energy into doing so.
This will be added to my "comfort watch list" - shows I can rewatch any time I need something to watch and be…
My Favorite Parts: - Ji Won getting drunk and thinking Jeong U was a sober driver and just handed over he car fob/key. - Ji Won trying to play off that he has been in a relationship before and getting called out by his number 1 fan/Jeong U's friend. - Jeong U having a spicy dream about Ji Won and then tries to avoid him like the plague at school. - Anytime Jeong U got Ji Won flustered and shy ( I had many giggle fits) - Jeong U announcing out of nowhere to his friends that he likes men - he isn't sure if he is gay or bi lol.
Now on to being emo.... Episode 7 put me in the sads because I really felt for Ji Won and seeing how bad Jeong U felt after reading about the abuse and whatnot that Ji Won had been through. I was thankful though that the sads didn't get dragged out for too long because then my heart would have had to go on an emotional roller coaster that it didn't want to go on.
This will be added to my "comfort watch list" - shows I can rewatch any time I need something to watch and be happy. It's joining Between Us, Perfect 10 Liners, and ThamePo
I adored Ji Won and Jeong U as a couple and enjoyed watching their relationship blossom. Jeong U's friends were entertaining too. The sweetness of Ji Won and Jeong U remind me of Thame and Po - they must be protected at all costs lol.
What I can give away w/o a spoiler tag: - Episodes are short (30ish minutes each) - Storyline isn't heavy so you don't have to prepare to be emotional - If you aren't into many NC scenes, this is a good one for you.
I'll comment below my favorite parts and whatnot with a spoiler tag.
For those who have read the novel or watched Counter Attack: when does Chi Cheng find out about Wu Suo's lying? I'm trying to prepare myself for it.... (don't forget to mark it as a spoiler for those who don't want to know)
