Recent comments have said the show is overrated and kinda fizzles out as the episodes go on. So, is that true?
Yes. But still, this was a decent drama. In my opinion, this show is not a 8.7 at all, realistically I say a 7.7. the acting is great and the action is good but the story just fizzles out honestly and the romance was decent but nothing special. What honestly kept me going was Han Hyo Joo and the romance but in the end I dropped it on episode 15 and just skipped to the end. I REALLY wanted to like this drama, but it could not keep me interested after episode 6. I had to force myself and to keep saying it was great or at least good.
Okay, I dropped this show because I couldn't get into it. IT IS NOT BAD AS PEOPLE SAY IT IS, but there are better shows to watch, especially if you're planning to watch a ton of other stuff. So do I recommend this show? If you have a lot of other shows you wanna watch, no. If you're looking for something to pass the time, watch the first 3 episodes then decide.
Bring it on, Ghost! a story about love, mystery, comedy, drama, horror AND...…..food. Throw all that together and what do you get? A well-made story to be honest. Let's start with the positives, shall we? first off, I liked the romance between the main leads, it wasn't forced and was quite adorable. Kim So Hyun steals the show with her acting. Cute, stubborn, feisty, hotheaded and always hungry. The chemistry with her and Ok Taec blends together for a cute couple that you wanna see work, and believe me, you'll find yourself smiling between these two and their moments they share together. I also liked how the showed wasn't always focusing on one genre. This helps prevent the show from getting too repetitive. It will go from romance, to detective, to horror, to drama, mystery you get the idea. Another thing that I liked was some of the backstory of some of ghost in the show, particularly episode 12 which made me tear up a bit. CGI was also nice too, not any special but not lacking either. The humor is nice especially with the main leads, you will smile like I said earlier with the banter between them. One more thing I also liked was the acting. I already talked about So Hyun, but I wanna also address the other actors as well. It's not Oscar worthy or anything, but definitely above average. Now, lets address the cons. Choi Cheon and Ing Rang are annoying as hell. I honestly couldn't stand these two, but near the end I was able to tolerate them. Speaking of characters, pretty much everyone except the main leads (and King Sang while we're at it) are uninteresting. While there are some intense moments (Also, huge thumbs up to the makeup team) the show is not scary, not even in the dark. Ending fight I thought was a bit anticlimactic and to be honest some of the fight scenes aren't that great. They aren't bad, they're good but they could have been done better. In the end, the show was enjoyable for me. I laughed, teared up at times, and enjoyed the main couple, which in all honestly is the reason I liked this show, the romance is the biggest reason (for me) that kept me interested from beginning to end. So, is it worth the watch? Yes, it is and I think you'll have a fun time with it. Bring it on, Ghost! gets a 8/10 (Great)
hey random people who may not have watched this show, i really suggest you stop and do not scroll down for the spoiler, just trust me when i say you need to watch this without knowing to get the full emotional experience
if you cant wait, then scroll down but you'll be ruining the experience for yourself
For those wondering about the ending, it is left up to you whether she woke up or it was an illusion, dream, or what he wished for - There is no wrong answer. I say she woke up.
BE OPEN-MINDED! this show does NOT normalize pedophilia at all, so please, I implore anyone who is curious or on the fence about watching this show because of the synopsis to PLEASE WATCH IT. I too thought it was revolting at first, but after reading the comments I decided to give it a shot, and the emotional experience was worth it from beginning to end. This show has one of the greatest OST's (Original Soundtrack) I've heard from a show. The main song called Prologue is overwhelmingly satisfying from the beginning melody, to the singers soft, yet powerful voice. Once the music starts playing in emotional scenes, I DARE YOU to try and hold back tears. Arimura Kasumi and Okada Kenshi… these two, are perfect in their roles and I'm definitely looking forward to more of their work. The emotion they show is so raw and genuine, It's that good and their chemistry is fantastic. I hope people give this drama a chance. It’s not like those teacherXstudent stories that derived from an existing, perverted fantasy. Instead, it tells a story of a student’s pure and innocent first love. As for the teacher, She’s aware of the societal boundaries and repercussions of these kinds of relationships and properly refutes his confessions and feelings throughout the drama (sort of) even though she loves him. As I was watching the drama, I found the teacher to be a real and relatable character. She is honestly the one you will sympathize and empathize the most with. Yes, pretty much every character in this show is someone you sympathize and feel empathy for but she really goes through the worst of it. So how do I describe the story? It’s such a complex and deep story that explores these two’s view of love. I understand that the student’s age is problematic but if you watch this drama with an open mind, you’ll find that this story is not perverted in any way. This isn't a story about lust, or the teacher manipulating the student or someone's work of perverted fantasy - NO, The writers were able to portray these two consenting individuals as humans who happened to find love in an unexpected place and time, and that's what the show is about: Two people genuinely falling in love. You will laugh, you will be in awe, and you will most certainly cry. This show.....this beautiful , captivating work of art is something that will be on my mind for a lifetime and yours too if you are willing to give it a chance. Please, give this show a chance, or you'll be missing out on one of the greatest emotional experiences ever put together. Chugakusei Nikki gets a 10/10 (Masterpiece).
