I'm glad it's not on cable tv!! I would hate this story to be unnecessarily sanitized for the sake of public morals…
It'd have been better if it were sanitized
A high-quality show doesn't have to unsettle or offend the public to break records
This one was promising, until it wasn't. The infidelity and nudity were gratuitous, superfluous and unnecessary to the revenge story. They cannot be presented or discussed in the public sphere
The producers must have understood that not many would watch the uneventful first half of the series; therefore they stuck in perverse shots guaranteed to appeal to the private parts of people
I agree a bit. Also it felt so american with all these inappropriate scenes. I’m not used to that from kdramas…
Our asian "values" have their pros and cons
Pro:
On the one hand, access to or production of explicit content has been increasingly unavailable through asian media
There can be no doubt that public indecency has been a massive industry saturating the west. Western consumers aren't "satisfied" with regular misogyny; there has to be an extra kick for them that comes from nudity and pushing women to their limit
Asian media hasn't been as polluted
Con:
On the other hand, religion spurs homophobia in asian politics
Asian gay people are offered no legal protections from discrimination in areas of employment, housing, accommodations, etc
It's important to include them in asian media; for them to feel seen
When they don’t see people or characters with similar experiences, the message they receive from the public would be that: "you’re invisible" or "you don’t count"
8.7? Absolutely nothing in this season, it's like 8 eps of introductions and nothing else. Not a single scene…
I loved Hye Kyo's facial expressions, or lack thereof
"An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, a scar for a scar. The one who injured shall endure the same injury. Maybe not. Then I'd be playing too fair, don't you agree?"
The ending of episode 1 brought a sense of closure to me. I expected to see her treat her highschool bullies worse than they treated her; to rip the hearts of her highschool bullies out of their chests, literally
What did we get? "Sex," "sex," more "sex," infidelity, awkward silence and verbal threats
Jong Moon did experience a serious asthma attack and Myeong Oh did fall into her trap, but someone else did the job
It's a high rating for a season that didn't deliver the chills

Puritanical people want a less vulgar and lewd culture
You want a more vulgar and lewd culture that lacks regard for the feelings of others and "fetishizes" women's bodies to generate profit
One group would always "force" the other to tolerate and participate in cultures that go against their beliefs, that's how cultures or cultural norms work
If so, it's best for the puritanical people to "force" their beliefs on you, for the sake of a healthy culture
You have a problem with it? You want to go shirtless or "fuck" in public? Go back to becoming cave dwellers
You can't simultaneously act like other animals and act like you're different from other animals when you can't think before you speak or keep it in your pants
funny to read. how they praise the game shk. Nothing in her game has changed. it's just that in this series, her…
"... greed. impudence. madness"
Don't forget the prevalence of nudity in recent Kdramas
"Omg you're brave to go against the puritanical crowd," they say
It's not "brave" for men and women to go shirtless or "fuck," not sorry
They complain about the "puritanical" crowd "forcing" their beliefs on them, but they are the ones "forcing" everyone else to ignore, tolerate or consume obscene material
The plot is really simple and they explained it very clearly what is it that you don’t understand?
And finally someone who gets it
Many tropes became popular in "straight" stories. But if these popular plot tricks and structures reoccur throughout a gay story, all hell breaks loose
It's because society has a negative attitude toward gay relationships

11:30 of episode 1, a student having an affair with a teacher
12:40 of episode 1, Myeong Oh sexually harassing Dong Eun
4:08 of episode 2, a woman riding a man, eye bleach highly recommended
26:48 of episode 2, a woman suggestively touching a man

And that's not how you treat another person
"Romance" isn't relevant. There's way more "sex" than "romance"
Some lust after each other and fool around 24/7 as if they are stuck in puberty
Please watch out for the explicit scenes. Eye bleach may come in handy

Jae Joon: old daddy
Do Young: older daddy
Jae Joon + Do Young = old daddy + older daddy growing old together

Nothing happened in season 1

There, they aren't hot anymore
