Don't you think "toxic" is incredibly harsh? She's lost her son! I hope you never have to face something that…
Exactly! ?It’s not that I don’t accept everything that everyone has mentioned here - sure Monica may have trauma and homophobia to deal with, and indeed there’s a lot of anger and confusion clouding her judgment. But 6 weeks???!!! Hello, I know many friends who were back at work days after losing a loved one. Because they’re not rich ppl and also recognize living ppl around still depend on them. What kind of a princess life style does Monica have that can afford to go on 6 week leave and booze everyday? I know it seems unfair for me to say this, different ppl have different thresholds for stress. But this is a big No No and crossing the line when you’re still the mother of another living child who is dependent on you. If you’re so traumatized that you can’t look after him, then you should be in an institution, not drinking yourself to death playing victim and pulling everyone around down to Hell with you.

The person i feel most sorry for is Ken’s brother. He’s been a trooper supportive of his brother and shake all the way. And while I can understand Monica’s grief, it’s really not fair to Ken. C’mon woman, bloody pull it together! You have another son who needs you too and he’s also grieving the loss of a brother. And you taking a vacation to grieve over Ken just sends the msg that you don’t care about your other son. Sorry but not sorry - this woman is not mentally strong enough to have children. And she’s made her son’s death all about herself as if she suffered the most.
