No I thik he is soul shifter, he shifted after buyeon was born hence chayeon is his daughter according to them…
I'm sure this is the correct explanation. I guess Bu-Yeon's father is the original husband of the Jin mother.
But I wonder how the Jin father (and perhaps the Shaman/Queen) soul-shifted before Bu-Yeon found the Ice Stone, which he must've done to be familiar with Bu-Yeon's scars? Even if there were some left over soul ejectors at that time, without the Ice Stone, wouldn't they petrify or leave behind a trial of victims?
Ep 15 was good! But I kinda wish the pace was a little faster or they cut short the episodes overall! Can’t…
You may have to wait. Given how long the So-i plot is taking to evolve, I suspect we're in for three episodes of palace-intrigue-angst with a two-week break in between.

So i review some scenes to pay attention to the swords the characters uses after i saw a comment (@chrish ) about the "golden power" from Jang Uk netflix photos.
About the Swords:
In the main poster Jang Uk is carrying Naksu´s sword. Both Jang Uk and Mudeok are using new clothes i believe is probably after they gain their powers.
Naksu´s sword : Half black, half white with golden details.
Jang Kang´s sword (father): a long entirely black with many golden details.
Crown Prince´s sword: a long entirely white with many golden details.
Jin Cho Yeom´s sword : a long red one
Seo Yul´s sword : a long dark blue
Park Dan Gu: He used a sword in the fight at first episode but i cant exactly see the color but its dark. Could be black. Could be dark green since its his color. He uses a green bow.
Park Jin´s sword (uncle): A black one
SO i believe this details are connected especially being in the main poster. Naksu´s sword is a mix of black and white. Could it be a hint of Uk´s paternity - that is a mixed of Royal blood and Jang family blood? Uk´s outfit is also black and white. i think is too much symbolim to be just casual.
And Why Uk´s is using Naksu´s sword? He could uses his father or a new one made for him.
( i have prints of the swords but i couldnt post photos here...)
For now we dont know if he is a soul shifter or if he is a bad guy helping Jin Mu´s plans. But that scene of…
If the Jin father is a soul shifter, then there's some explaining to do. That would require the ice stone, which Jin Mu acquired when JBY disappeared. Yet the father knows all of JBY's distinguishing marks and scars, which a soul shifter created after JBY disappeared wouldn't know about.
Could be any secret of her. But i think its probably nothing explosive. Its just like, you cheated the exam! Lol
Do we even know that MD cheated on the exam? I've always thought that the boys got one of the questions wrong, and MD never looked at their cheat sheet.
There's a prophecy which the next King is born with the King's star, who symbols which stop all the chaos. The…
And, at least as far as I presume, Jang Kang didn't want the secret of Jang Uk's birth to revealed because then he'd be killed as a threat to the royal family or there would be chaos and war in Daeho over the succession.
My guess is that it's not actually him and it's someone else's soul inside his body.
Pretty much. Seems like they're creating an army by soul-shifting old dying mages into young bodies and promising them eternal life by means of the ice stone. (Well, I guess people will believe anything if they're close to death.)
Somehow reminds me of the Kingsman movie plot, with the conspirators ending up petrified instead of having their heads blown off.
Can anyone recommend one some kdramas that are Netflix? Movies are good also 😊
I'll add:
Rom-coms: Touch Your Heart (funny and angst free, one of my favorites); Business Proposal. Also like Home Town Cha Cha Cha.
Modern Fantasy: The Uncanny Counter (similar to Mystic Popup Bar, which I actually like better); Hotel del Luna (writen by the Hong sisters who did AoS).
I think the logic of the show tends to be reasonably well considered, but some things are overlooked. In particular,…
Completely agree with the more-than- questionable plot hole (as I'm sure does everyone else). Never mind how Mudeok walks straight into Jinyowon, and they all just shrug their shoulders and go along with the idea that Jin Cho-yeon must've opened the vault without meaning to. (Is that even possible??)
I guess suspension of disbelief is required at various points -- like Jin Mu demanding to know where Jang Uk learned Tansu instead of why Mudeok interfered in the duel (supposedly forbidden) by tossing in droplets of blood. (No one noticed her yelling at her master??)
It is interesting, though, that Daeho society doesn't seem quite as stratified as in a traditional historical drama. Respected maids or servants seem to be on a more equal footing with their masters/mistresses, or at least are able to communicate with them very directly without getting rebuked.
Which drama are you currently watching right now other then this? I was thinking of watching this show but now…
Alchemy of Souls is great -- so far one of my favorite shows. The story line is very interesting , not messy, and defiinitely going somewhere. The only reason I could imagine not to watch it (if you can) is if you don't like fantasy-oriented stories (in a pseudo-historical setting). If you do like that kind of thing, all the more reason to watch it.
The girl who got saved by Uk from Gil Ju and thought Uk was following her bcz of her looks ... seems like she…
She is Heo Yeom's granddaughter Heo Yoon-ok and works in the hospital at Sejukwon. She's been seen there briefly in previous episodes, but seems like she and Jang Uk have never met.
I hope the love triangle or rectangle doesn’t become toxic. I am really not a fan of love triangles.
Well, however often they get angry and threaten to break apart, it seems like Jang Uk is willing to lay down his life for Mudeok, and Mudeok isn't willing to settle for "just anyone".
I really hope that Gil-Ju hasn't succeeded in soul-shifting into Jang Uk's body: there does appear to be a tunnel above Jang Uk that could exit the soul-shift realm, he is protected on the outside by Mudeok, and we only see the blue exit mark on Gil-Ju's body in the after-credits (Jang Uk's shoulder is covered).
I don't think I can survive a double soul-shifted relationship, even temporarily...
Plus I suspect that, before we get to Mudeok's real story, we have a long upcoming plot sequence about Jin Mu and the Queen scheming to get rid of the King and install the (unsuspecting) crown prince as a stooge (maybe even a soul-shifted stooge) while all our heros get blamed unfairly...
For me a soul is a soul. It is not a cake that can be split in two or three in different bodies and combined or…
If I recall correctly, there's also the discussion by Jin Mu about how when a strong soul enters a weak body "they may not be able to access their energy" (as when Jang Kang entered the King's body).
It could be that the energy is part of the physical body, which would explain why someone dies when their energy is absorbed (or leaks out). I guess what happens to the soul after that is irrelevant since it's no longer connected to a body. (I don't think we've seen any indication that disembodied souls -- if they exist at all -- can shift into bodies).
As an additional edit: there is a gate of energy. It makes sense that it would be a gate between the physical body and the soul. When closed, the soul cannot make use of the bodies' energy to do anything, whether uncultivated (like Jang Uk, initially) or highly cultivated (like hypothetically Naksu in Mudeok's body).
But I wonder how the Jin father (and perhaps the Shaman/Queen) soul-shifted before Bu-Yeon found the Ice Stone, which he must've done to be familiar with Bu-Yeon's scars? And perhaps there's some reason why 29 tables would, in fact, be required.
