I disagree, the wife is not stupid as the latest episodes have shown, he was a loser, lazy did not keep the promises that he made her. Made the poor woman suffer. It is nice for us for stories to show us that women who are not the female lead are not evil. Maybe you have not seen the latest episode
This show has flaws but Lin Peng's character and the rich girl are actually real unlike in most dramas.

Rich female leads never get the guy they want, always get taught how to behave, hopefully she is a little different because she so far is nicer than she appears. I already ate her love interest so I am not interested. He was pretty good in Across The Ocean To See You as the manager

Haha the comedy is good in my opinion. My issue is the office politics that does not want to end. Sometimes it is best to not have any villains, it makes for a smarter show.
Also there has been hardly any romance between the two leads and it is half way through. Makjang overload

Technically his wife was supposed to marry someone else but the man disappeared and came back so his wife divorced him. It is pretty obvious that he will end up with Chen Qiao En but there is just too much Office Politics, it is taking a bulk of the show, there is hardly any romance. Also a lot of screaming especially from the male lead's dad and Wang Yibo's character

It reminds me of swordsman 2012, they changed everything nly to revert to the source when they ran out of ideas. The story you end up with is a hot mess

Haha the book is so much better, I recommend watching this first, it will make it seem watchable.
I know that they had to get rid of nude scenes for ratings purposes but they ruined so many emotional connections that the characters should have had.
Compared to the book, this feel like an Avengers movie when it should have been a spiderman movie. Too many scenes that should have been only Guili, they added the entire cast to spice it up? Dunno, ruined the character development in my opinion.
I was personally looking forward to the apocalypse scenes with Tiao Tie but that didnt happen, the only apocalypse we got was people behind a barrier chanting haha
Well to be honest, given the scale of the story, the budget would likely have cost almost a billion dollars with 10 seasons so I get why they gutted the story haha
