I guess if you're not introverted you might think it's extreme... but as a highly introverted and socially awkward…
But she's not doing it bc she's trying to be cute though? It may seem like that to the outside and there surely are fake-introverts trying to get bonus points from guys by acting "extra awkward" and all that... but Ongsa here is genuine. She's not doing it on purpose and neither is any real-introvert either... it took years of "training" for me to not internally scream after every sentence I said to another person... and another years to not appear like an alien who's never seen humans before.
Do you get nervous during presentations? That's basically the amount of stress level (most) introverts have in any social situation.

Yea, the american casting is even worse... like 40 year old's playing teens... :')

Not even... the average age of actors in western films for teenagers is actually around 30.

I was confused about this too, ngl. If someone has read the novel and can explain this I would really appreciate…
I totally get it, I was confused first time watching too, but the special episode afterwards cleared things up a bit. (There aren't spoilers btw but they do mention a few things that aren't "actively" shown in trailers/teasers, so if you want to dive in "fresh" without much knowledge, I'd suggest not to watch it.)

But it's also not the first series where the kids-parents relationship seems more like strangers than actual family... so idk lol :')
I guess we'll just have to wait, maybe things get revealed later on.

it's funny to see people criticize 23.5 for being "over the top slapstick comedy" and then you check their drama…

Aylin is their cousin (confirmed in the special episode) and will definitely get a backstory. The question is,…
Or maybe you don't know every single teenager in the whole world and just because your surroundings in your country might not yet be so extreme with tiktokers, doesn't mean every other city in every country is the same?

Where did I say TT and KP are not wrong? Ofc these series are toxic af, TT is my most hated BL actually. But you were only wondering about physical violence in the 1st ep and I gave you an answer. No opinions attached to whether it was a good showcase or not.

Alpha is Ongsa's biological sister – Alpha is in 12th grade. Aylin is their cousin, but not sure from which side of the family. (Watching the special episode might clear some things up.)

It's not that the mom doesn't know about Ongsa's social life, it's just that she cares more about her grades. Which is a very common thing among families, and stereotypically among asian families. Though it's usually the Dad who cares less about his kids' social life, I guess they just switched the roles here.

guys we haven't reach 100k views in a day, please watch so gmmtv will continue to make gls!
probably because it's geo blocked in some countries, and they have to watch it on Netflix or use a VPN but not everyone can do that.

No offence to those that liked the first ep, but for me it was really not that great. The humor/jokes were juvenile…
I guess if you're not introverted you might think it's extreme... but as a highly introverted and socially awkward person, I can confirm that everything Ongsa went through in ep1 is what also happened to me. Not 1:1 but her reactions I mean. It is very realistic so far.

Also, if you think the actors are too old to be playing 16 y.o., you clearly don't watch american series, do you? :')

I think it's more enjoyable when you can relate to Ongsa because it's like looking at yourself back then and laughing…
Fr! Even as an adult I'm still deeply introverted and very shy. I felt everything Ongsa went through at school... Brought back some awful memories :')
It's fun to watch but argh also so emotional! I totally cried when they started bullying her ToT

I really enjoyed episode 1! Pleasantly surprised! Super cute! I got thrown off with that ending though! Sun thought…
The nickname "Earth" in Thailand is a masculine name, so that's why Sun thinks the instagram user is a guy. We know it's Ongsa, but she doesn't have any selfies on the account, so you literally wouldn't know what person is behind the account. And yea, due to the name being masc, it's not Sun's fault for thinking that, but kinda sad she assumed that so quickly without even asking. :')
Ig you could compare it to someone being nicknamed Ares or Venus in the western world. Everyone would obv think "Venus" is a female, and "Ares" likely male.

To be fair, the reason the teacher addressed the issue was because Ongsa didn't just get bullied but also harassed…
That's actually the reality. Most tiktokers or video influencers don't even realize they're bullying, when they obviously are. They simply care about video content so much and lack the needed empathy for anyone else, who doesn't do tiktok.

Due to everyone filming things these days, it's difficult as a teacher to tell, what is heavily edited and what is an actual video proof that someone has been harassed? Even if you give some teachers actual proof, some might totally brush it off as "teenagers being teenagers". Sexism still exist strongly in some countries/schools, so if it's a girl being bullied, a lot of teachers/schools won't do anything about it, due to "boys being boys". A lot only care about the length of a girl's skirt/trousers, and will totally suspend females who "dress sexy". but won't even move a muscle when boys do anything borderline-r3pey. Sad but true.
Not Thailand specifically, this is a global issue still.

Also, it wasn't shown in the video that Ongsa got punched. The video starts right after she got punched, leaving the watchers to their own imagination. The bullies may be dumb irl but certainly know how to protect themselves online – obv they wouldn't have shown the whole video they filmed, especially not that little fight with the 12th grader.
It's quite remarkable the teachers got the boys to apologize, when, from perspective of outsiders, all the boys basically did, was film her when she had a nose-bleed. And put those effects on her, as well as share it online.

Well… apparently I’m the only one who’s gonna say this but this… was the most boring thing I’ve seen…
Aylin is their cousin (confirmed in the special episode) and will definitely get a backstory. The question is, what kinda series gives the backstory in the first episode already? I haven't even seen a movie series, where they give backstories to support characters in the first movie.

Physical violence/harassment is actually a pretty common trope in like almost every Drama. Especially the first episode. TharnType, KinnPorsche, ...
And what do you expect of bullies? That they introduce themselves nicely like, "hey I'm [name] and I'm gonna bully you in the next episodes. Hope you don't mind"?? Obviously they'll start bullying as soon as they see the chance. If you were a bully, would you wait for her to make friends first and then bully the whole group, or strike when she's alone and defenseless?? Think about it.

The two friends that "follow" her are likely the class representatives and just make sure she's alright. It hasn't been stated anywhere that they're friends already. But if you've got a classmate, who passed out before the day even began, obviously the class representatives will take a bit extra care of her – and they also sit at the same table.
Where were they following her anyways? You mean in the hallway bc of the video? Well, duh, they needed to show her the video and, again, as class representatives that's their job. But even if they're not class reps, there's always this one student in a class that just plays mini-teacher and maybe these two are these type of students.

Do you really need to know the roles of each character in the first episode already? Have you never watched a story with plottwists?

Idk, you do you, but I personally don't need clear introductions of every character in the series and can wait or let myself get surprised by their role. Who knows, maybe they're not bullies, just had an awful start. That's the tiktok generation after all – caring about video content so much, they don't even realize they're bullying. IMO this was a very good portrayal of the current gen and it's great they showed it in the first episode already.
