So, just like what happened in the case about two years ago, he would do the same dirty work even though he saw the investigation was progressing and they were starting to uncover more details. He's even willing to end it at Thup's expense and his own innocence... Don't forget the main reason for King's actions; his love for Singha is just a secondary factor.
