Also not every one set in heaven and about gods makes it xianxia. For example, DouLuo Dalu 2.5 and 3.5 is set in heaven and the characters are all gods, but that doesn't make it xianxia. XuanHuan is basically western fantasy or anything not taoism inspired. Xianxia isn't just about gods. Gods is mostly popular tv tropes. In novels, you actually never seen them unless in female target romance.
As for Xian Jie I think the English name is Chinese Paladin. The Chinese name is Xian Jie Qi Xia Zhuan. Ppl are just used to calling it Xian Jie for short
