I enjoy KDramas because they are a glimpse into the Korea as a people, a culture, a psyche, a perspective. It’s fascinating to watch. I have never been to Korea, nor have I any Korean friends, so I do not know if what I see from the dramas are a reflection of what is "normal" in everyday life in Korea. The advent of pretty boys (thank god, most of them can act) specifically tailored for women or girls who are willing to spend money to watch these boys on screen, somewhat shifted the production demand. But, I do miss dramas about real people, their real struggles and triumphs, retold in a realistic setting with realistic plot. I am sure there are great directors who can pull this off.
There is so much potential to tap into. Villains, support roles should not always have to be played by the same set of people. Try and watch 10 dramas and tell me how many times the same person/s play the support role. I bet it's more than 3. At least they have a steady income and it's suprisingly comforting to see a familiar face playing another version of support role, knowing that even if the leads will fail to act well, the support roles will be solidly acted.
A shift is, indeed, needed. More solid storytelling, directing and acting could be helpful in any genre of drama produced.
Kudos to the Benjamin Tsang and Liu Dongqin for stellar performances. I can believably see them as my classmates. If I were in their class, l would be the silent captain of their ship. But I also would be working my ass off to compete academically if only to gain footing into their circle and make them as less lonely as possible. They deserve unconditional friendship.
I just binged all five episodes, and honestly, I’m not okay. I’ve read the book before, so I thought I knew…
It’s the directing and the storytelling. For me, it felt like I also go to school there, like I am part of the Jiang-Shen family, albeit invisible, watching everything “physically “ unfold before me. It’s simply beautiful and touching in its sense of realism. This is why slow burn makes sense. Hi Mimi!
For three months, KinnPorsche has been a part of my life. It has allowed me to meet many wonderful and fascinating people. I have learnt to listen more attentively, to be less arrogant, to acknowledge that there are better/different ideas than mine, to acknowledge that there are certain topics on which I am extremely inflexible or intolerant, and to recognise the need to comprehend more thoroughly. It has been one wild ride. It has rendered practically all other BL shows unwatchable for me. To BOC and the cast and crew of KP The Series, thank you for your dedication and unwavering desire to give us your best. I wish you nothing but luck in your future endeavours because you are all so great. To all my fellow fans, thank you for the wonderful company, and perhaps we will meet in MDS one day. I wish you success in your personal lives!! Dankeschön. Auf Wiedersehen bis zum nächsten mal.
I wanna hear your opinion on this, from my perspective I believe that if Porsche betrayed kinn, kinn would have…
That is the burden of being the heir. He will abide by the rules. But, it will not be him who's going to shoot Porsche. It's the same as the final confrontation with Tawan. Kinn can't even pull the trigger despite Tawan having stabbed Big and nearly killing Porsche. That sense of "compassion" I really do not understand. Vegas is a lot freer. He can choose love. He has the luxury to do so. We can say, Vegas' love for Pete is purer, almost fanatical.
Can anyone else think of a drama where actors bring up things they want to say or show and the director listened?Feel…
Not only true for Mile and Apo, but also true for Bible as well. BOC really trusts their casts and considers their inputs. This is indeed quite rare and very admirable.
One year tour? Wow. Will they be able to sustain it?
Also, do not forget that Apo said something about his and Mile's new project? How will they fit all that with the year-long tour? SS2 might even be up in the air if this is the case. Hopefully not.
I would love to see the whole squad partying at Yok’s bar with Vegas and Macau in season 2
I think they already did, at Ep3: It was their last shooting day. Not sure if all other actors outside of those in that episode were present at that time.
This is my response to the situation with Build.1). The facts. He said some terrible things a few years ago, things…
Genuine kindness, empathy and respect are somehow assimilated over time. Progressing from almost casual and indifferent cruelty to genuine kindness or respect is quite a leap despite eight years of growth. The fact that, for him, Vegas, as a character, is not sick is already very telling of his mindset and perspective on specific vital issues. I won't trust him with people I love. I will always be wary of people like him.
