I have just read in xhs that the screenplay to this drama was finished before the novel was published and that the director just liked the setting of novel and bought the rights to it, so they are not really connected, stories are different. I am not sure if it is true, can't check but the author of the post hopes it will make people stop shouting about gender change.😊
