Go Nam Mu was actually a wise ruler of Goguryeo, known as King Gogukcheon posthumously. He succeeded to his father probably quite young (his birth date is unknown though), and reigned for 18 years between 179 and 197, so he is a really ancient historical figure, considered in old scriptures as having good judgment and a strong appearance. He is known for having won a great battle against Han dynasty from China with only 5 000 soldiers against 30 000 in 184, and most importantly for being the first Korean ruler to establish a meritocratic system for selecting government officials, which lead to commoners, like Eul Pa So (that will be played by Kim Mu Yeol in the drama), to become ministers. He also had a great care for his people and established a law to help them have a low-interest loan for borrowing grains for cultivation, and the system remained for a very long time until Joseon era. He didn't had children with Queen Woo, and seems to have died from natural cause (maybe a disease). Queen Woo then supported his young brother Go Yeon Woo (King Sansang, I'm looking forward to whom will be cast for this character) and married him after he became king, but they didn't had children neither. Then she was the queen dowager under the rule of Sansang's son, King Dongcheon, that he had with another woman, that Queen Woo tried to have murdered. From the ancient records Queen Woo and her clan seems more like power grabbing people than meritorious and great people, so I wonder how the story will be told in the drama. So I think we can expect a tragic yet great role for Ji Chang Wook as King Gogukcheon. ;)

Cang we get war scene because it's very rare in kdramaland, l want to see JI CHANGWOOK as a( king Gogukcheon) beat Han Dynasty 30,000 soldiers with his 5,000 soldiers that will be so epic plus JCW is already King of Action so there will be no problem with shooting the action scenes.
