I do not understand how Xie Wei is red flag... Like people nowadays are too sensitive. He has a different personality and he was on drugs to heal so went impulsive time to time. Later on, we could see how happy they are at the end and if he really was that bad she wouldnt have been able to live with him. In ancient times, people were not so sensitive and if we are watching a angst historical drama with gray character we shouldn't expect characters to be snowflakes. Yes, he did kiss her like that forcefully once when he was having an episode and second when he was impulsive due to jealousy but he did stop and ask her consent to continue. If I were her I wouldn't mind someone like him given the fact that he will die to protect me and be loyal to me. We shouldn't expect everyone to be a oompa loompa guys.

I think the length is perfect...it was a bit unique on its own way with the story telling.

This is the only drama I think was really up to the expectation this year. Maybe preferences but this drama is highly pleasing.

Oh, he already knew she is bad but the emperor couldnt just kill her without evidence right? So, he was playing along and he knew she will make such move...you can see when Xie wei revealed his identity to the emperor he also asked him to keep the Xue family close. So, he used the idea to trap and get rid of her with proper evidence.

You will understand if you finish the whole drama. It was part of their scheme.
